The Stuttgart-based company teamed up with Apple to make the Taycan the first mass-produced car with full Apple Music integration. Subscribers will be able to access more than 50 million songs by simply tapping the touchscreen a few times, or by summoning Siri. The service is made possible by the three-year internet plan Porsche will include with every Taycan, so even Apple Music subscribers will need to pay to stream after the car's fourth birthday. Apple CarPlay compatibility will be available, too, though it doesn't sound like Android Auto will be part of the package, and audiophiles will be able to order an optional Burmester surround sound system.
unless it's slower, way more expensive, and not particularly better in any other way than a tesla S, i think this could be a HUGE hit.
before mmarshall chimes in with 'but we don't have enough charging infrastructure', buyers of a car like this will have a big house, big garage, and have a nice charging setup installed.

I don't like "plugging in." I hate plugging in.

To help drive uptake, Porsche is installing fast chargers at dealerships in the U.S. and Europe that will load the Taycan’s battery with enough power to drive as far as 100 kilometers (62 miles) in four minutes
That said, it's nice not to have to plug-in with hybrids.
first, you make it sound like all Model S's are that fast, they aren't, only P100D with Ludicrous mode and even then, i see 2.5 or 2.6 floated around. nevertheless, incredible acceleration. tesla s without ludicrous mode is more like 3.2

second, while a model s p100d with ludicrous might beat a taycan in a drag race, i don't think it will be close if a course has turns, i.e., in terms of handling (porsche wins). i see you did mention that though.
regardless, very exciting that porsche is jumping in. fully expect to see the whole range follow, maybe a 911E? cayenne, macan, etc.

The Taycan that can do the 3 seconds is their highest performance version so I was comparing apples to apples. We can compare it to a model 3 which does 3.2 seconds and has pretty good handling but that's only a $55k car.

. Can't wait to see Taycan line up against Model S and e-Tron.
