Team stalk all the way. The dipper as a button would be nice, as it invokes some nostalgia from a bygone era where it was mounted on the floor. These days I actually find myself turning off auto high beams due to terrible programming.

The future of cost cutting disguised as technological advancement is going to be LLM integration for driver functions.

Steve Wozniak drives a white Model S. I've seen him around our neighborhood, as recently as a few months ago

Well the good news is, the stalk is probably going to make its way back, like it did in the Model Y refresh, so team stalk may be back soon :D

It has become very popular with Uber drivers in NYC. I see them all the time in the last year.

Actually, Dave, I've used Apple smart-phones for years....although, to be fair, I do a lot MORE on my Apple MacBook....I find the Macbook much easier to use. And you can't beat Apple electronics.....IMO the best and most reliable in the industry.

But the main point I'm trying to make is that driving a car is a lot different from using a smart-phone...despite the fact that a lot of drivers are addicted to cell-phone use while driving LOL.

yep. You can like multiple interfaces at the same time for different use cases.

A HUD would be more appropriate for the Model S and X, it doesn't really make sense for the Y and 3, which are appliances. I was talking to a friend of mine who works for Meta (he's the head engineer for Oculus) and he told me HUDs are expensive and expensive to repair if something goes wrong. And I can tell you as an owner of two Tesla's, they would just be eye candy as the information you need is easily viewable looking straight ahead

if there was any brand that would demand a HUD it is definitely Tesla. Eventually Tesla will get there

We have HUD on a few of our cars and it's an option I'll always take if available. It's almost inexplicable that Tesla don't offer it. Obviously not quite turn signal on the wheel levels of inexplicable, but getting up there.

HUDs or just a driver IP are big on the startup competition, so I wonder whats taking them so much time to add one in. Heck aftermarkets got some basic setups folks install post purchase.

MY is what it is is because it's best bang for the buck. I don't think there's another vehicle in this new price range that offers what MY does. On top of it, FSD, Autopilot, Good Std Sound System, YouTube Music and other tech features are hard to beat. With new improved suspension, sound system... it's no brainer unless you-know-what. :D As for styling, IMO except CT, all Teslas look great (for the price range).

I think it makes sense they don't. They like keeping number of components low to keep production process simple and more profitable. It seems it's either SW controlled option or no option for them. If they introduce HUDs, the dash will need to be different along with more components added. But like I tried to tell some folks here when they said Tesla would never add ambient lights, rcta, free hand opening, 360... when they run out of "improvement", they will implement it. So who knows? HUD may already be in the work.

Saw a few new MY on the road, front end is nice, but the rear light bar black area has not grown on me
