I also think with such negative opinions, he won't test drive it with an open mind. No offense MMarshall.

I don't mind the RAV. I just can't stand the "pseudo tough" vibe from the ugly plastic wheel arches 👎

That would be awesome.
Have you ever driven an ev? I'd like your honest opinion of the Tesla if you decide to drive one. The thing that struck me the most about the Tesla Model 3 (besides the IMO ridiculous dash) was the immense torque from its electric motor. I made the statement when I reviewed it and wrote it up here in Car Chat (and still feel that way), that this was clearly not a car for aggressive, careless, inexperienced or unattentive drivers. If you are not very careful with that go-pedal, especially in dense traffic, it could get you in trouble (or cause an accident) VERY quickly....within a couple of seconds. :eek2: I thought the Mach-E Mustang was grossly overpriced for what you got, and had some bad design-features, which I went into in my write-up/review, so I won't re-hash them here. |

Yes, I have driven several EVs....a Tesla Model 3, a Chevy Bolt, and a Mach-E Mustang, among others. In terms of build quality and design, I liked the Chevy Bolt the best...and it was also reasonably-priced.

I think Model Y is a nice looking car that does most things quite well, hence the top sales; sure there are a number of deficiencies.

MM, definitely should schedule a test drive to add some reality / first hand experience to your review!
I don't expect you to like it, however, in either the new or older trim. IMO there are too many operational departures from a 'traditional' vehicle for you get comfortable with the Tesla from the big screen driving nearly everything, turn indicator changes, etc. (In fairness those things also one of the reasons I didn't buy a Tesla, so it's not just you). You're more of a flip-phone guy and this is a smartphone car. |
Updated Y keeps the turn signal so it'll get a pass on that critique :D
The Y offers an incredible value for what you get |

but yes, mmarshall, you can't (or shouldn't) base your opinion of either the new 3 or Y on your drive of a 3 ages ago. |

"The policeman had never seen this yoke steering wheel," Wozniak said. "When you're already turning, you can't find the buttons for the turn signal." "It's kind of a new Tesla, with new software - there's no button for the glove box," he explained. "You have to go and search in menus until you stumble into finding it - it's horrible." I'll never get on the button turn signal team :D Wouldn't disqualify a car for me, but would drag it down for sure
