I think the Robotaxi and the actual Tesla robots will drive Tesla stock much higher.
Maybe temporarily, a sustained stock price rise requires significant revenue from Robotaxi. Optimus is years away from being a revenue source.
Like with anything else in life, you got to have the stones and patience to see if it actually comes through. The tech will definitely be there in the near future, the only question is if Tesla will be able to capitalize on it or is there another company like Waymo that will have the greater market share. Personally I would not bet against Elon Musk.
I don't see Waymo competing on cost or being able to scale like Tesla. Only thing that saves Waymo is if Tesla doesn't solve autonomy to a level that is say 3x better than a human driver. If that happens Waymo is screwed Tesla will offer rides for 3-4x cheaper and the car will be able to drive nearly anywhere.

I think the Revenue from Robotaxis will be very significant and this is something coming to reality in a not too distant future. Many people would prefer to take Uber without a shady driver or just to avoid awkward conversations etc.
Optimus might be years away and even then it will need large scalability to be profitable. This doesn’t mean that the stock price will not skyrocket as this becomes closer to reality.
Tesla has several products that can reshape the world and potentially increase the company’s valuation much higher, not many companies can say that.

I'll guess and say reported revenue for Robotaxi is 1 year out. On Cybercab don't know but this is the golden goose for Tesla. Besides...

...this. Realistically 5 years before Optimus is in full scale production.

If Tesla stopped selling cars to the public they'd still be a company I'd invest in.

I shoulda bought stock instead of the Model 3 in Dec 2018. Hindsight for the win!
Say $58K out the door...
$58,000 / $25 = 2,320 shares
2,320 * $396 = $918,720. Man that was an expensive car!

I had about $40k burning a hole in my pocket from an acquisition of one of our startups, put it in TSLA while it was still pre $80. Pre-tax I ended up making around $350k or so. Most of the money is sitting in index funds. Should I have just held on? Probably, but I don't regret selling, and I never look back because I made a crap load

No you should have bought Nvidia. Probably best you don't look up what your holding would be if you did.
^^^ plenty of stupid south of the border pointed out in the article too...
This isn’t the first time a Tesla has been the cause of a failed road test. In California in 2021, a 16-year-old failed their test because the examiner felt the car was “slowing on its own” due to regenerative braking. After media attention, the California DMV stepped in, clarifying that regenerative braking alone should not be grounds for failure, and the student’s result was later changed to a pass.
In Arizona last year, another teen’s test was initially failed under suspicion that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software had been used—even though the car didn’t have the system installed. Officials later revised their reasoning to regenerative braking before pledging to review testing standards for EVs.
I didn't like the no indicator stalks. No gear stalk isn't an issue though. You don't change gear often, so it's a moot point AFAIC.
A bit quieter than my car - I was expecting a dramatic difference though.
Suspension is much better on rough roads - dramatic difference.
The quality of the fit and finish is clearly better than mine, but I guess it's hit and miss.
The FSD nanny is really strict on a HW4 car. I got banned so quickly lol
I prefer the FSD visualization in the IC vs. on a Model 3/Y it's forced to be on the central display as there's no IC.
For some very strange reason it felt more spacious than my car. I can't see how it's been made more spacious (interior width) than the previous generation other than making the interior door panels thinner?
