Default Tesla CyberTruck Review

I had a chance to drive the CyberTruck - foundation series. I guess this is the top trim.

Super easy to setup test drive online although i had to wait 30min later than my scheduled time.
They have a person go with you on the test drive. The lady that was assigned to us was horrendous and maybe just broke up with her ex or something. I was with my wife and kids. She didn’t even introduce herself or acknowledge my kids in the back.
She didn’t say anything about the features of the truck or mention any info - power, towing rating etc.
Then as I start to drive the thing she says to go slow as she gets nauseous since she is constantly on test drives and has THROWN Up before in the car! I was speechless and tried to not say anything back since my kids were in the back.

Anyway back to the truck.

Design - I think exterior is very cool looking. The trunk bed cover is power open/close and easy to operate. The tailgate gate is power open only.
The frunk can be opened /closed from inside which is cool.
The doors open with button but then you need to further open them by hand. The inside door frame is Extremely sharp and i would say dangerous. I can’t imagine dealing with this in snow, rain or freezing temps.
The car overall has unfinished feel like it was rushed to production. Sharp angles everywhere that can cause damage just trying to open / close the hood or doors.

Interior - Very spacious and comfortable for 5 people. The tech is great like all the Teslas. My son loved all the gadgets. I much prefer physical buttons for adjusting mirrors and other stuff.
The seats do have physical controls and seating position is very good.
Steering wheel - it seems way too small and just feels like a toy. Very cheap feeling.
Seats - They are ok and offer decent support but nothing like you get from BMW/MB.
Dash - no design, cheap plastic materials.
The rear view mirror is a joke. It’s half the size of normal mirror in other cars and not useable when cargo cover is closed.

Drive - The drive by wire steering is the biggest learning curve but very easy to get used to. The rear wheel steering makes the truck very easy to park and maneuver.
Power seemed pretty good from the limited ability i had to use the throttle.
Regen braking is very aggressive.
Handling is a tad wobbly but probably better than typical trucks in its class.

Overall - I think its cool Elon made this thing but I just don’t see it having long shelf life. I personally have no interest to buy one. It needs more development, much better build quality and have more features that let it be used as a real truck.

Good review. I haven't driven one, but I've sat in one, so it's just like you described. It's just way to ugly for me, no matter how good a truck it is.

BTW, the Tesla employees out here are extremely friendly. Also, they don't go along for the drive, they let you take it out for 30 minutes wherever you want
