So today I was pulling out the centre console in my car for another project and I had a idea, I noticed a lot of guys buying replacement courtesy lights in white led for $23 each. With this thread you should be able to do all your courtesy lights in you car for under $5 in any color you want.

I started by pulling out this light from my glove box, this can be done to the glove box, centre console, foot well lights and other dash l.e.d's

You twist the light out of the housing and then pop off the top to revel the circuit board and OEM amber l.e.d.

Next I cut the old amber l.e.d. out and drilled the light hole a bit bigger for new blue l.e.d.

I cut off the capacitor off the new blue led and added a bit of wire for length.

I soldered the two connections to the board. (Sorry for the crapy pic it was hard to get a close up).

Popped the top back on the light and reinstalled in housing, then plug and reinstall in glove box. I'm going to do all these lights a bright white. I just wanted to see if it could be done and I had a couple extra lights kicking around. The light I used was a t5 l.e.d. Bulb.

I also was able to plug the 12 l.e.d. Panel directly into the plug and it worked. You could heat shrink both connections together and stick these panels in most locations for extra light.

Very nice DIY and I must say you're quite the crafty one. I never thought of breaking open the housing and replacing the LED's this way. I just ate the overpriced cost of the IS/RX lights.
Good work!

For some reason I can't just leave things alone lol, I'm always taking stuff apart and playing with it. I started taking all the lights I can find in the car out. If I can change them my self (if I feel brave enough) I do it my self, as for the tiny ones I think I'm going to take it to someone to have done.
I added a link to a thread when I get a lot of info on led swaps.

I thought briefly about the head unit led swap while my dash was out but I think the green leds left in the rear view mirror compass and auto light would drive me crazy.

If you figure out how to modify and retrofit the front or rear interior lightning please let me know!

Ill get that mirror light swapped somehow lol, as for the dome lights there also on the list of things to do. There pretty dim. The back one scares me tho. Not sure exactly how to go about removing it.
