I know I'm 7 years late, but what do you mean by spartan interior? I tried googling it and found nothing😅
"Spartan interior" means a very plain, nothing exceptional, interior. Lexus doesn't offer a "Spartan" interior it is a personal opinion. Could also be referred to as a "plain jane" car or interior.
Well, here's a lesson in misunderstanding. I saw a Lexus produced video on Twitter on the new ES350/300h.
In the video it shows the side view mirrors electrically folding inward (assumes the driver has left the car). Well I replied to the video that I wanted to know why the ones I was considering did not have that feature and that the sales said it didn't exist either. I got a reply that said it was on ALL ES models. Then, I responded asking for further explanation given my seeing the car without it and sales indicating that it didn't exist. It was only after I replied that second time, that I realized the video was coming from a UK dealer site (produced by Lexus).
So, now I have a NEW question, why don't the cars being sold in the US have this feature????
My 2023 ES 300h - Premium package has them however, the automatically folding in at engine shutdown is a dealer only enabled option. I could manually fold them in but I wanted them to automatically perform that function. There was a checklist of all functional electronic options provided to me at purchase. I selected the ones that were dealer service enabled only and they enabled them for me. Piece of cake for me.
