WAZE, Google are all free. And very good and updates. The NAV in my Lexus must be paid for after it is off the free trial. I think it is $80 per year. No thank you. I have an Acura that is 12 years old and I have never had to pay a yearly fee for the installed NAV system. I do not like the way Lexus makes you have subscriptions after a certain period of time. It is a money grab, in my opinion.

@Jeaco Are you saying you have zero Lexus nav function without a paid subscription? What’s going on there?

yes me too and I am impressed you can do that as I don't like the standard Nav you get with any car and my shiny new ES350 included.

Yes, you can continue to use your Lexus navigation system after the free period by purchasing a subscription for connected services like Lexus Enform Dynamic Navigation, which requires a paid subscription to keep your maps updated. However, the basic GPS navigation system that relies on satellite signals will continue to function for free. You also need a subscription for all the other items in the Lexus app. $80 each.

Thanks. Does the 2019-2022 ES NAV use real-time traffic?

Yes, but it’s not free forever. I believe it’s included for the first five years. My 2019 ES (purchased March 2019) no longer shows real-time traffic, but my 2020 NX (purchased December 2020) still does, it’ll show red lines when traffic is heavy and even tell you how many minutes of delay to expect. Honestly, it’s pretty useless though, I stopped using the built-in Lexus NAV after a few weeks. I use Apple Maps, let me tell you something, Apple Maps is the most intelligent map and fool proof for NAVIGATION that works for everyone. Google Maps is good for finding places, their navigation interface will fail you when you need it the most, LOL.

In short, 19-22 ES350 with built-in navigation will work without any required subscriptions, however the map database (streets, POIs, live traffic updates etc.) will get updates for free automatically over the air for first 5 years (I'm not sure), after the you still can use navigation but your map may be outdated. Yes you can always subscribe at anytime and get updates again, just check with Dealer or Lexus, I think price is like $80 per year...

That isn't correct. The map data is still sourced from HERE; same map data source as the 2019 through 2022 Lexus Dynamic Navigation system uses. (See the "Map data" section in the "9-1. Appendix" subchapter of the 2023 (or later) LEXUS ES250, ES300H, ES350 (NAVIGATION AND) MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL.)

That said, the 2023 and later model years' Drive Connect Cloud Navigation system does use Google Points of Interest (POI) for the system POI information data, but that's the only thing that's "powered by Google".

Thanks for the correction! I honestly thought Lexus had switched everything over to Google Maps and just customized the interface. Only the POI is powered by Google? my rating just dropped to 7/10 now, LOL.

Has anyone figured out a way in Google Maps to turn off the pop ups that ask if the police or construction is still there?
