Really appreciate all of this quality feedback! Also love how this thread has taken on a life of its own, as is often the case with these forums. Suffice it to say that all of the OEM wheel options are done tastefully and enhance the vehicle's aesthetic in different ways. I remain happy with my machined rims, but my lust for the NR's lingers.. That said, if anyone wants to swap their NR's for a set of nearly new 18" machined wheels off of a '23, I'm game! Meanwhile, I'll keep up the search for an orphaned set
I had a white LS430 years ago with the 5 spoke 18s on it and to me those were the best Lexus ever did but these days everything has to be highly detailed, sharp and angular which Lexus really leaned into.
The new Toyota CEO hopefully will set Lexus styling to a more conservative slant and keep the more youthful stuff for Toyota. But we’ll see.

Wow, that's a beautiful LS! Always liked the blade style wheels on that gen..very classy. Makes me nostalgic for my old '13. Such a fantastic car it was..just a tank of a vehicle. Happy to report that my '23 ES channels much of that ownership experience for a lot less $, weight, and gas..

Don't hold your breath. Just look at a Lexus TV ad or even peruse a brochure. Their total push has been to F-Sport everything (luxury apparently no longer a prime focus for the brand, something, along with quality, it built the entire brand on) and younger drivers, even on the ES. I get it on something like the UX or NX, but the ES too? Stupid.
Came here to say that I just had to get new tires with barely 25k miles on my “noise reduction” tires. Complete bravo sierra marketing ploy. I put Michelin Defender 2s on and am much happier with the grip, ride, and don’t notice anything in terms of a change in road noise.

Are you here to talk about your tires or rims? The NR 18" rims are the feature, not your tires. And any brand new tire will be quieter than a tire with 25k miles...

Both. I have NR rims (EDIT: WHEELS FOR THE MESSAGE BOARD POLICE) that came on my ultra luxury. The dealership sold me NR tires as well that were Bridgestone pieces of garbage and only lasted 25k miles. What I’m saying is that the NR tires had zero affect from the time they were new compared to the tires I just got. The rims (EDIT: WHEELS), maybe a bit quieter on this car than my previous 2016 Lexus, but not so appreciable that I would seek it out if I didn’t have it.
Rims = slang for wheels. Most know what the reference is. But I get what you are saying. haha
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHEELS AND RIMS? The truth is that "rims" are actually just one part of the wheel. It is the outer edge of the wheel which holds the tire. It is the outer circular design and surrounds the decorative area of the wheel's hub and spokes.
I would expect the context clues would be enough to gather what I meant, but go ahead and be an a$$hole. FFS, some people have nothing better to do than pick gnats off fleas on an internet message board.
