Jerky Transmission Solved
Never give it more than 1/8" of gas pedal at a time. Wait 2 full seconds after slowing down to give it any gas again.

I know this only affects a small percentage of owners, thankfully, but I just ended my lifelong relationship with Acura because I had to adjust my driving style to avoid a jerky transmission. That'd be a hard pass for me if I had to do it again with Lexus. Hopefully a real solution is found for these issues.

or just drive it in "sport" mode.

I actually like my car real well again and just accept its limitations. 4 years and 55,000 miles. I also had to put the Amazon seat cushion in. That helps a lot.

What is the Amazon seat cushion? My 21 ES 350;seats are fine, just a little short on the padding. Never seen such firm seats in a car in all my seventy something years!
I don't bother using it around town, I put it on my seat only for longer trips. |

The transmission also does not jerk or lurch if you don't turn it on and/or do not drive it. J |
Yeah kind of silly you'd need a specific method of driving this particular model. But I've owned this car now for more than four years and nearly 60K miles - early on, it annoyed me enough that I was sure I would dump the car sooner rather than later. Years later, I've gotten so used to it somehow, I don't even notice it anymore. Granted most of my driving is freeway.

For those of us who commute in the city daily or, like myself, live in the inner city, this transmission is an absolute misery. |

Money problem solved Never spend more than 1/8 of your income at a time. Wait 2 full years after making a big purchase to spend again. JK |
