How to disable rear seat reminder

Hey all,
Any idea how to disable the rear seat reminder? I checked the manual just now and can't find anything.
Thank you.

Just like the seat belt chime/light, the rear seat reminder is now mandated under federal regulations, so there wouldn’t be a way to disable it by a setting. Nor, I imagine, would a reputable dealer be willing to do it, just from a liability perspective if nothing else. No doubt someone who really knows the circuitry might know how, but it may affect other things.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to disable it?

You will need Toyota TechStream Tool to disable it.

Here is a post I made in February.

Confirming that the TechTool can disable the warning buzzer(s). Each of the three (3) rear seat
positions are selectable. These are set up to trigger only if the rear door(s) open and the seat(s)
are occupied. Are you loading heavy parcels onto the rear seat? I routinely carry coats, briefcase,
lunch and shopping items and have never had the buzzer activate.

The rear seat reminder I've outlined in a previous post is just that, a reminder and not based on being triggered by physical items. The way to test this is to have the alert set to active in the vehicle settings and then upon exiting the vehicle, remotely locking the vehicle. Then an alert should display on your phone. If you lock the vehicle prior to exiting or by using the door handle this will not trigger the reminder. Locking remotely with the app will trigger the alert if active. For a more thorough outline, reference my previous link in the post.

You can do it as said in TechStream or Carista. There's many pages of stuff you can do.

So much for that mandate, gone before your very eyes. Of all the 52 customizable options, there wasn't a mention of it back in Oct '18 for my '19 F Sport. I did have all the seat belt chimes defeated by the dealer.

Simply because I am used to having a vehicle that allows me to disable it.

I figured it out -- Please see below!

@ATL350 You can turn off the rear seat reminder in the cluster under Vehicle Settings.

Since the see below is gone, I'm guessing you didn't figure it out?
