How to disable rear seat reminder
Hey all,
Any idea how to disable the rear seat reminder? I checked the manual just now and can't find anything. Thank you. |

Confirming that the TechTool can disable the warning buzzer(s). Each of the three (3) rear seat
positions are selectable. These are set up to trigger only if the rear door(s) open and the seat(s) are occupied. Are you loading heavy parcels onto the rear seat? I routinely carry coats, briefcase, lunch and shopping items and have never had the buzzer activate. |

Just like the seat belt chime/light, the rear seat reminder is now mandated under federal regulations, so there wouldn’t be a way to disable it by a setting. Nor, I imagine, would a reputable dealer be willing to do it, just from a liability perspective if nothing else. No doubt someone who really knows the circuitry might know how, but it may affect other things.

Simply because I am used to having a vehicle that allows me to disable it.

Since the see below is gone, I'm guessing you didn't figure it out?
You can turn off the rear seat reminder in the cluster under Vehicle Settings. |
