Updates for 2023 ES - New Lexus Infotainment interface?

2023 ES will be getting the new Lexus Infotainment software? I really doubt this, but it seems like to be true.
They are getting rid of the clock, CD player, the touchpad, and will re-arrange the climate control button, cup-holder and shifter area... my hope is that they bring the wireless charger out.
Other than that, few minor changes outside and inside, no other major changes...

Everything will be confirmed by this Summer from Lexus...

As someone who is still awaiting a '22 ES300h UL, the only real #1 thing I truly want is a PHEV version. I don't see that happening for '23 though. With that said, I welcome the loss of the touch pad, use of the new screen UI.

Loss of the clock, rearrange console/buttons, loss of CD & clock, no big deal. Fingers crossed for wireless CarPlay.

What I'd also like to see is Lexus adopt the e-AWD like the RAV4 has. My wife has a R4P and I love the powertrain and AWD is fantastic. Having a driveshaft running to the rear of the car is soooo 1960's.

FYI none of this is confirmed, it is pure speculation at the moment. I think Lexus usually announces the next year ES by late April so we may hear within a month or so...

Given that the ES just received midcycle refresh, and that the new Lexus software on NX is a major ground up overhaul which would require different hardware, I’m pretty confident nothing will change for 2023 ES

I tend to agree with the article and a credible Youtube source (Kirk Kreifels). Therefore, I am looking forward to the newest midcycle refresh even though I am not in the market.

Is Kirk really credible?

Ha ha, no. Most of his videos are based on speculation and rumor. But it works so I don't fault the guy for that, you just gotta keep it in mind.

I have a hard time believing they'd do that major of a change right after a midcycle and with 8th gen on the horizon. Then again, they could get at least 3-4 years out of reusing the same parts if they do but why not just ride out the existing layout? Of course Im biased as I just got the 2022 and would be majorly bummed these major changes happened the year after haha

Count me into the don't get rid of the clock club, it adds a classy touch IMO

Normally that is the case and doesn't make sense after a mid cycle refresh but we aren't living in normal time right now thanks to supply chains issue. I am guessing Lexus is experiencing issue of re-stocking old parts. In another video done by supply chain expert he is saying chips manufacturers are switching over to the new chips as they are more profitable and away from making old chips for auto industry. I am guessing Lexus has a bit easier time procuring the modern chips from their suppliers. Although it costs more but Lexus will just have to pass it onto the consumers if assuming the cost saving of removing old parts like old touch pad, CD player, etc not covering the new added cost.

I wanted the CD player. I knew it was going away some time soon, and for me it was a selling point.

LOL. I have not once used my CD player yet.

You and me both - we may be the last two on earth still using CDs:) And with the ML system, the CDs sound so much better than the flash drive which I know I need to update the file format from MP3 but can't be bothered.

It looks like pandemic is accelerating the extinction of the CD player for Lexus. Perhaps one day I will hunt for an old CD somewhere in the attic so I won't feel left out. :)

I still buy some on eBay for under $5. Why not - they may become collectibles in my next life:)

Something like that. Can I sell you some of my collectible CDs by the way?
