Selling your 2022 Ultra Luxury

Given the market, obvious demand, and scarcity of the 2022 ES350 Ultra Luxury, would new owners part with theirs? Given the right circumstances. For example, an offer above what you paid.

used car prices are falling rapidly so not sure it is as hot of a market as it was 1-2 months ago. Also why sell if you need a car? The you need to buy something and go through same issues of finding a rare car

I will respectfully disagree with both of those statements.

To be fair here, I expounded on my original post to clarify. Maybe that will make my post a little more clear.

I’ve asked myself this question and I think the magic number starts around $79,000 to make it worth my while. I’ve been waiting since the first week of December 2021 and would still have to think about it.

I share your disagreement.

To OP's question: No, I won't sell. First, simply replacing my car with an identical new one (if I even could) would now cost more at the very same dealership than I paid for it.

Second, the same inflated pricing and poor selection also apply to any other model I'd replace it with. If anything is in stock now, regardless of maker, you can have any color you want as long as it's white, grey or black on the outside and black on the inside.

Third, Factor #2 is even more important to me since I chose the ES partly because of the large price advantage it already enjoyed over anything else that can do what it does.

Not where I live. I've been getting quotes every month from all the usual suspect on our 2019's, and they have only gone up, not down.

I've been noticing pretty big inventories of ULs in and around the SoCal area. Most trims of the ES. One local dealer has 22. w/ 5 ULs. So it seems inventory is going back up. Was low key thinking of trading for a 3rd 7ES. Was actually looking for an ESh F port with triple beams. can't find any. but meh big hassle. and those big black wheels don't motivate me a whole lot. they're just a blob of metal painted black. no creativity.

I like the CT200h F Sport diamond cut/machine polished twin 5 spoke wheels... my favorite Lexus wheel ever. so satisfying to own and look at.

They should move the FSport back to the graphite wheels. Black wheels don't do it for me either but I absolutely love the graphite 19s.

For me the order is

'22 Premium 18
Graphite UL
Old Premium 18
F Sport Graphite
Old 17s
New 17s
New F Sports Black

To be honest not crazy about any of them. Though the top two are my favorite. I wish Lexus made a premium 19" machine polished/diamond cut wheel. like something you see for the optional 19s on the Audi A6. Something with a mirror finish that just pops. I think Lexus can do better on the wheels of a big body premium car.

What I like about my wheels (the premium 18s) is they have a flat surface. I do like the spokes of the new design for 2022, but I feel like they won't look good while spinning. I like when a wheel has a flat surface and reflects back at you.

More cars are being built and more cars will be filling the dealer lots pretty soon.

I've thought long and hard about this and most of what you said rings true. Here is what I can agree on. "Cars are being built and cars will be arriving on dealer lots." I can get on board with that!
I've been wrong before though. I mean, it could go up, it could go down or it could fool us all and go sideways!

Yes, that’s right. More cars will be rolling into the Lexus dealer lots in the next 4 to 8 weeks during March and April. Lexus in Kentucky is building many more cars as we speak. Also, special orders will reopen again in the next month or two sometime in the springtime.

I would... 65k and above.

Here's the obvious companion question:

Assuming you couldn't turn around and buy another ES for less (a pretty good assumption, since nobody will knowingly offer you more than market price), what would you use that $65k to replace it with?

I have several vehicles so I would wait for the market too get better before I purchased another vehicle. I still want an E450 or E53.
