Occasional high pitched beep on start up

Hi everyone,

I have ‘20 ES 350 F sport and when I start up the car on occasion I will hear this high pitched beep that lasts for about 2 seconds. Does anyone know what this relates too? It’s not all the time and as of late it seems to be happening more often.

No warning lights on dash. BSM is on. I don’t have my seat belt on when I start the car and it’s not the seat belt tone. The seat belt tone is more of a low “ ding “

Any ideas of what is causing it?

Is your outside temp close to 3 Celcius? Probably a warning roads may be icy…

No. I live in Los Angeles.

I get that beep sometimes. I think it's a battery warning for me. My dashcam is configured to record when there is a change in environment, even if the car is not running. This will slowly drain the battery if I park my car facing a direction where there is a lot of prolonged activity. When I get back to my car and start it, there is usually a long beep. If I drive for a while and restart the car, the beep is not present.
I would recommend going to a local auto parts store to get your battery tested.

You sure something is not near the car and the sensors picking it up? I searched the owners manual for all instances of beep and there's no mention of anything but parking or opening the doors or traction control.

Its not the sensors. I checked and I also couldn’t find anything in the manual.

Although it isn't the easiest to find there a FAQ Attachments and Images that briefly describes how to attach files to a posting.

Be aware that the present web site workings for attachments doesn't seem to work quite as described in that FAQ or at least I haven't gotten it working exactly as described in the FAQ. I suspect over the years of updating and maintaining the web site the mechanics and user visible materials related to attachments has been tweaked/changed but the FAQ hasn't been updated to reflect those tweaks/changes.

You can upload to this site, no account needed, and post the link back to the forum:

I'm pretty sure I heard that sound plenty of time. Maybe just normal procedure sound of electrical check-up on start.

Let me pay attention for a day or 2 whenever I start the car, to see when will that sound come, and will report back here.

I started up the car 6 times today, morning, noon and afternoon, and I heard that sound every time, is it normal or what's up, 19 ES350 F-Sport, do I need a new car? :uh:

Just asked a friend with a 2019 ES and she says she hears it sometimes too.
