it was not purchased through an auction. It was a loaner at the dealership. It was brand new at the dealership. As a matter of fact, they had bumper work done on the car at less than 600 miles as well, at the same collision repair place. I got the service record and the repair info.
Since you no longer own it, please post the VIN. I would like to see what history shows up.

After my financing cancelation clears I’ll gladly post it. It isn’t showing anywhere right now. It’s being monitored. I do not want anyone else getting stuck in the same position I was put in.

If your dealer was in any way sorry for the hassle they caused you, they would offer you a great deal on a new ES!
This experience should be a cautionary tale for anyone looking to buy a used car at a dealer, or anywhere else. Just because it is a low-mile, late-model vehicle, doesn't mean it hasn't had issues in its first year. Too, we have all been warned by now that CarFax has its limitations for reporting accidents. If the previous owner backed into something (hard to imagine with the safety tech working properly) and paid out of pocket for the repair, it won't show on a CarFax report.
Buyer beware...if one does not have the expertise to see accident repairs, and one is looking for an accident-free vehicle, one should take the car to one's favorite body-shop for an inspection prior to laying down big bucks!
It goes without saying that whenever buying a used car one should have it looked at by a favored mechanic or garage that you trust. I trust no one when it comes to buying a car and that goes for new OR used... As I previously stated in this thread I believe that the dealer knew about and hid this incident and the price of the vehicle was reflected in that.
After reading 35 posts regarding this catastrophe I truly believe that this dealership was bent on shafting a buyer to unload this piece of crap... Unfortunately our member got tagged...

Totally agree, yet some people will still come on here and defend Lexus saying most dealerships are honest with only a rare few bad apples. Based on my personal experience and reading war stories on Toyota and Lexus dealerships on various forums for decades, I would say honest dealerships are the very rare exception. If you think your Lexus dealership is honest, you just have not yet discovered how they are screwing you over.

I agree - I thought I had an honest one but lately I've been seeing their true colors including a fiasco with my wife's RX. Told them to check brakes last June during an oil change. They came back and said all is good with roughly 50% pad life remaining. Two months later I hear scraping Had quite an arm wrestle with them after that to replace the rotors at no cost to me. My guess in that case it was incompetence, someone just not paying attention. But they should have taken ownership of the issue immediately and they fought me on it.

If they even took the wheels off to look at the rotors... And this is why Lexus is no longer #1...
I think that is the local dealership the OP took it to, for the tire issue that was mentioned. The date it was there shows 1/2 and this thread was started on the 6th.
