Default PKSA - is RCD an additional option?

Hi All,

I have a 2019 Luxury ES 350 that has the PKSA and RCTA options. What I can't seem to find in the menu is the settings for the RCD function. Is this an additional option on top of the PKSA option? I have the rear camera and the RCTA does work as it picks up all kinds of movement behind and alongside the vehicle when backing up. But I expected that the RCD function would be included since with all the hardware in place I assume this is only a software addition? If RCD is an extra option is it something that the dealer can add through a software update?

Thanks!

Yes, I am familiar with that page and the fact it says "if equipped". But that phrase is used a lot so my question was is RCD part of PKSA or an extra option on top of that? PKSA says "if equipped" as does RCTA. I have both of those but am surprised that RCD isn't part of the PKSA/RCTA package as it would only be software at that point. Are the options really layered on top of each other with each one being an extra add-on? Or should I have RCD included as part of having PKSA/RCTA?

Probably more confusing, but on the spec sheet the dealer gave me for my wife's 2019 ES300h Luxury, as well as the sticker, there is no mention of "PKSA" or "RCD." However, there is an additional $1,900 option that includes "Blind Spot Monitor w/Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intuitive Parking Assist w/Auto Braking, Rear Pedestrian Detection and Panoramic View Monitor" which appears to be these features.

If you look on page 204 of the manual, it appears that the PKSA is the "system" that includes all these features, including "RCD" and is the $1,900 option I mentioned (although I can't find the term Rear Pedestrian Detection in the manual). Not sure why the nomenclature is different from manual to sticker/spec sheet.

Thanks for that bit of info. My window sticker shows "Blind Spot Monitor w/Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Intuitive Parking Assist w/Auto Braking". There is no mention of rear pedestrian detection or panoramic view monitor so I guess that explains what I don't see in the menu. My option price was $1,065 so the extra $835 for your vehicle is what the two options require. All makes sense now!

2019 RX350: Is buying the Navigation option the only way to get Parking Assist? Or is it standard? Or included in the Premium or Luxury Pages?

Lexus site is confusing to me on this.

Thanks for your help!
