Same here. I use a damp microfiber towel and follow up with a dry one if necessary. Personally I also like that there isn't any fragrance.

 

Just as an FYI that piece of dash trim removes in about 5 seconds, it just pulls straight off. Here is the backside of it, I took mine out yesterday.

I say this because if it's really bad you could buy a replacement, I have no idea on the cost, but it would take under a minute to replace it.

Another idea is to have it wrapped in real leather, that looks fairly easy to do as it is already wrapped as you can tell by the edges on the back.

I already put it back in. But, the left side of my pic is the left side by the driver and the right is by the glove box but it’s “upside down” from how it’s installed on the dash.

I have brown interior and had a lot of scufs on the bottom trim.
Bought a can of leather spray and painted the trim. It looks like new and 100% match.
Easy to work with, pretty straight forward.







They have these things for any brand, any color. I also got the prep material.

 

This idea is intriguing, as is the suggestion for real leather reupholstery. I recently ordered a bottle of non-glossy leather dye because my wedding ring scratched the steering wheel rim. I haven't gotten around to using it yet, but if the color match is good, I might eventually have to try it on this surface too.

 

I admit that looks impressive. I don't know if its the image clarity or what but most i've seen have more texture in the material. Whereas your picture looks more smooth. Is it my imagination? But honestly, looks like quality work regardless.

 

Great idea! Did you also apply the aerosol clear top coat? Did you have any issues removing the piece from the dash?

 

It looks smooth but the texture is the same.

...yeah, nah, I'm serious...

 

at that point why not just use vegetable oil

 

Mink oil is fantastic for natural (not coated) leather.
