The TSB very clearly states that it addresses a problem with the base audio system manufactured by Pioneer. Did you have a conversation with the dealer specifically on the topic that you have the Mark Levinson system and that the TSB clearly states that it applies to the Pioneer system? If so, would you please describe that conversation in detail?

I would like to hear how much improvement you see from this. I would also like to hear about the degree of improvement with the standard/base audio system if there is anyone on this forum that has the TSB performed with the base audio system. Thanks.

Curious for the result. If good I'll take my ML system in for a tuneup too...

I'm curious to hear your results as well. Clearly the ML system has a front bias, which is why I have my fader set a bit to the rear. Since it's correctable within the range of the adjustment, it doesn't seem to be an issue to me.

I would not want to risk having the dealer taking apart my ES ML audio system under the circumstances. Thanks for being the test case.

No risk in my mind. Dash not coming apart etc and even if it was, dealer is doing the work and will be accountable for the outcome. I am honestly astonished how much drama this thread has resulted in🤔🤔 Congrats to the OP!

And he did it all with a total post count of only 10, then he was gone.

Just incredible. I hope my audio system is still functioning when I pick up the car this week Next victim - fuel pump recall. Still no parts for that one.

So now they're telling me the part won't be available until end of week or early next week so I'm turning in the loaner and we'll start this all over again when the part comes in. The service advisor confirmed the TSB applies to both the base system and the ML.

I have no dog in this show, but that statement by your SA makes no sense to me. He is telling you that the amp in the ML is the same as in the base system? That is the only part replaced under this TSB.

I wonder why the TSB doesn't say anything about the ML system, unless I missed it. Is there anything on the TSB that leads you to believe that it applies to the ML? Also, do you know if they are replacing the entire amp? The TSB refers to the "amplifier logic" being updated. I'm not sure exactly what that means. If the amp puts out X watts, how does a logic update produce more volume? Seems to me that if they want more volume, they should increase the wattage, assuming that the speakers can handle it.

I'm beginning to wonder myself. He told me there are different parts for base and ML.

You're way out of my league at this point. I have an MBA in finance - zero expertise in this stuff.

The TSB states that they are replacing the amp. It shows p/n 86280-06260 for those with nav and p/n 86280-06250 for those without.
