Nav/audio system randomly rebooting
My 2019 ES300h is Randomly rebooting the infotainment system doing this only on 2 mile area in my town
I thought it was just my car its only 6 weeks old
My wifes 2019 NX300h does the same thing we realized its only 6 weeks old
I had a loner when my car was in the shop for a week and My amplifier had to be replaced it was a 2019 ES300h and it did the same thing
go figure. I agree something is causing this to happen , a signal in the area but this should not be, I am going down the road and on the phone and lose it all for a reboot. unexceptable
Here is a link to it happening https://photos.app.goo.gl/pTFmPgWnjVg3cruM8
My question is have any of you had this happen?
maybe this had something to do with my amp failing? maybe , I have told my service writer at lexus , they did nothing. I am contacting Lexus myself today and will take it up with them
3 brand new cars 2019 Lexus I have experienced it in allPhilip

It sure seems like something external is causing the same effect in 3 different cars, and it seems unlikely that it was the failed amp! My first thought is that they might all have the same version/release of software in the infotainment system in common. Is it consistent or sporadic so you can easily demonstrate the issue? When it drops your call, can you pick it back up on the phone itself, or does it kill the call entirely? If it's consistent, can you demonstrate it on ALL new Lexus (same SW revision)? Does it happen on older ones (old SW version)? Also, what is in the area that might be causing a weird electronic signal? My first thought would be an alarm system that is slightly off frequency (they often cause radio signal issues), or even a HAM radio in the area. Maybe even a cop shooting radar! That would be interesting! Lots of guesses that may ALL be completely off base. My bet is that you'll end up doing the troubleshooting on this in order to get Lexus to investigate. I'd start with trying to isolate it to a specific SW version, though. I'll look forward to hearing how this comes out! Best of luck!
1 other late thought! How soon after startup does this occur, and is that time roughly consistent? I'm wondering if it's not really area dependent, but time dependent instead. What if the software thinks it needs to "install" a firmware update that never quite completes for some reason.

i emailed the general manager at my dealer and he is working on it
the call drops from the car but not the iPhone

I recall a thread on one of the CL forums a couple of months ago. That thread's OP said that he/she was having a similar issue, and he/she noticed that the reboot was also happening consistently in the same geographic location. Ultimately, the OP figured out that the cause of the re-booting was some sort of communications frequency that was being transmitted in that location.

if a outside source can do this then it can possibly effect safety features and someone could get hurt
and LEXUS would want that
i believe that perhaps a firmware update may fix this
I hope

You're right!!! 4 times in 3 minutes is out of hand, and they need to fix it. Is the dealer still ignoring the issue? If it's rebooting that often, it shouldn't matter. It's so odd, that is happened on 3 different cars. I wonder if it could be something in the computer. I would ask if they can re flash the infotainment system, and/or the car's computer. I might also try to replicate the issue in a 4th car. In the end, it's their issue to resolve, not yours.
I contacted Lexus directly by email once about an issue. They responded very quickly, and then THEY set up the appointment with the service dept.at my dealer. I got a lot of focus when I took the car in, and the service consultant became very responsive as well.Just an FYI.

That video is not an ES though. Looks like an NX perhaps?

Does this happen no matter what is on screen ?, or only when you have the map displayed in main window or side screen. how about if radio only is displayed .? my only other thought would be if its map on screen , there is corrupted data in the map software for that area ( on all lexus database) . And not to say even if it isnt diplayed that the corrupt map date isnt causing it. Jusdt a thought if its the same geographical area.

I have a 2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, limited, came fully loaded. I have been experiencing the same problem for over 2 years. I contacted the dealer and discuss this issue with them and guess what they never heard of this. I have tried resetting the computer by removing the negative cable from the 12 volt battery for 30 minutes and that didn’t fix the issue.
Kinded scare to do anything and give the dealership the green light to fix the problem. While using the nav If the computer reboot I will lose the information I input. If the nav screen is off, I have notice the computer resetting itself, this can happen two or more times and 1 or so later this can happen all over again. Maybe someone with a newer car under warranty get this fixed they can inform all of us. Thank to all

they feel it is a RF signal and if I can replicate it wednesday they have a machine that will test for RF signals they are very interested in what's doing thisPhilip

today I took the car in for a Lexus Field technician specialist and master tec from the dealer took a ride with me to duplicate the rebooting and they witnessed it doing it 3 times
then they asked that I leave the car so they could pull information off the car about what was happening and to test it happening with a device of some kind , then they will take the information and try to resolve this
so I will update again when I hear from them
I have been impress with them being so concerned about the problem
