Excessive wind noise

Hello... first time Lexus owner here. Just purchased a 2019 ES-350 F Sport. Love the car but have one issue. When accelerating above 55-60 mph, i hear an excessive wind/warbling noise. It gets louder as the speed increases and cant be heard below 55. I cannot see anything obviously wrong around the door or window. I am riding with a service advisor at my 5000 mile service so hopefully they can hear the sound and can correct it. But noises like that can be hard to locate and diagnose. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Do you have paint protection film on the car, and, if you do, is there paint protection film on the mirrors? If you do a Google search, you will find instances of a wind whistle on various car models being caused by paint protection film on the driver's side mirror, and the sound generally appears at speeds of 50 mph or faster. If that is the problem, removing the film will solve the problem. In some cases, after the film is removed, if it is reapplied in a slightly different position, the problem will be solved. With my 2017 ES, I had the same problem, When the paint protection film was removed, the problem was gone. I had the film re-applied, and everything was still okay.

Also, there are a few other owners of the 2019 ES that have reported wind noise that is evidently caused by something else. If you do a search of the Generation 7 ES board, you should find a long thread discussing the issue.

It could also be that one or more of the under body panels is loose or missing a fastener. This has been noticed and corrected on a few cars over on the 2019 Toyota Avalon forums, by having the dealer remove and reinstall the under body panels.

Can a loose under body panel or missing faster really cause such loud noise? I am experiencing the same loud noise problem on my newly purchased 2013 Lexus LS 460. I posted a thread yesterday and I updated it with a road noise test inside the cabin. Someone on the thread mentioned that the under body panel can be culprit.

I will have the dealer look at the under body panel.

I am experiencing the same problem with 2013 Lexus LS 460. I conducted a noise test last night, see attached thread below. Download a sound meter app on your smart phone and try to conduct a similar test if you can and post the results for comparison. If you decide to do so please drive safely.

It's highly unlikely the factory forgot something. Many times cars are just so quiet, everything is noticeable. Also mirrors are a necessary evil. They are large, stick out, and create a ton of drag. And thus wind noise.

I agree on the ES being so so silent. My home street has loose gravel I barely noticed until now.

Yeah, I've also been experiencing this. I heard the windows come with film on them. Could that be causing it?

I don't think it's possible because the film cannot create drag which causes wind noise.
