How long it takes to purchase a special, factory order!
For all you good, smart folks who want a Lexus; and you want it with the options YOU desire, here is about how long it takes to receive a "special factory ordered" vehicle: Approximately five (5) months. I know, I asked for a factory order because no one could find exactly what I want on a lot anywhere across "These Fruited Plains." Here are the delivery milestone details.
- Order for a 2019 Lexus Ultra Luxury ES 350 on 09/27/2018.
- Notified 10/18/2018 that the factory accepted, without questions, my special Lexus order.
- Notified on 12/07/2018 that the car build is January 21, 2019,
- Told that the estimated time of arrival (southern California) would be February 15, 2019. In the meantime, all dealership sales people I talk to would love it if I would compromise my requirements and purchase whatever the heck they have on their lot. I assure them that I am not spending $50K - $60K and take whatever they have. I'll gladly wait. For those that are wondering, I currently own a loaded 2007 Lexus ES 350. It’s a wonderful car and I have not had one problem with it.

That's quite a long wait but for sure makes sense to get exactly what you want at these price points. I guess I was lucky as my local dealer had pretty much the exact FSport I wanted. Yeah I could have done without the triple beams but it wasnt important enough to make me search further. Good luck with your new ES when it arrives.

Yeah, same here. There's several options on the new car that I DIDN'T want but accepted (at additional cost) so that I wouldn't have to wait 3 months... Triple LED's and pano roof being two of them... However, driving in a rural area last night where there were no lights, I found that the triple LED's were invaluable to my old eyes... Very good illumination and highly recommended.

I was hoping you would find that to be the case. We have certainly enjoyed ours on the NX - but they are quite different from the ES or even the refreshed NX. Glad to hear you are “seeing” value to the new lights.

They seem to illuminate on the side as you make turns. Very neat but hope they never need repair😨

Hmm.
According to this thread, the RX F-Sport has it.

I guess it varies.
