To take this a step further - when I was lamenting the fact that I had to buy a 2018 and couldn't wait for the 2019 because of an accident the salesman consoled me by saying something to the effect that "well you know this is a new model and they have problems sometimes - you might be better off in a couple of years". On the other end of the scale you drive in with a Lexus that is only 5 months old and they still try to sell you a new car..

That is typical salesman BS. There will be no unreliable Lexus model. There has never been, and will not be. He/she is just trying to make a case to buy now, as most sales happen in the "now" moment and not a "later" moment.

Has anybody been playing with the ES builder lately?

I built an Ultra Lux last week with Mark Levinson and the HUD which came to ~$51.5k. The same car today is ~$52.8k on their website

I tried when it first went live, and just tried again now. Same exact pricing for all options and packages. I'd try it once more, you either were missing something the first time. Or something got added by mistake this time around.

Another thing I noticed since the beginning is it lists base prices for all cars, but the price instantly goes up several thousand the second you start adding some options that do not equal several thousand.

Lexus online build web site has always been poor. Long before the 2019. Don't list all options, prices screwy, can't get this without that. Needs work...
