Default Touchup paint Eminent Pearl

Can anyone recommend a touchup paint pen for 2019 Eminent Pearl finish. I have a small scratch that is beginning to rust. Body shop wants $1600 to remove and repaint the entire door. Thanks in advance.

Go to your local Toyota or Lexus dealer. They sell them. That rust requires sanding down to bare metal first though. If not it will just come back within a year.

It requires two touch up paint bottles. One is the base white and the other includes the pearlized clear coat.

You can get OEM from Belllexus for cheap. 085 is the color code.

The touchup paint pen as sold by Toyota has the colour in one end and the clear coat in the other. Now, if you want a small bottle or spray can you’ll have to go to an auto supply store that can mix up the paints you’ll need. In this case you will need a primer, a base coat, the pearl coat and the clearcoat. Not cheap and a lot of work (including the various grits of wet sanding paper, etc).

check this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-...what-next.html post #15.

This job is like a “small” house renovation…it just keeps growing until you force a shutoff! The reason is that the rust does not stop where you can still see it but will extend underneath the paint some distance and that will have to be "sanded" out before you start with the primer and paint layers. There are several YouTube videos that will show the process. Now if you only want a "hide this until I can trade/sell" the car, then the paint stick might do the job. Those paint sticks are really only meant for repair of tiny pits that only go through the top coat and have not yet started to rust.

It's a tricoat paint. Base, mid and clear coat.

I got one at Lexus. But I must say, amazon does carry the OEM paint colors. Have gotten it there for other cars.

dont paint over that. it'll just continue to rust underneath. if you plan on keeping the car and want to fix it, you'll need to repair it properly.

if its something you'll get rid of, you can paint over it, but i would sand the rust off first or it'll look like poo if you paint over the rust

Yeah, rust is like mold. You need to expose and remove all of it before repairing, can't just cover it up.
