And the 500 V8? Pretty much guaranteed to be dropped.
It was just announced. Minor refresh and the V6 is still alive

EVs, HEVs, PHEVs aren’t perfect, but they’re a critical step forward in decarbonizing transport. Why? Because they are far more efficient converting energy into motion, compared to gas engines. Also, if history’s taught us anything, it’s that the "limited" fossil fuel market is anything but stable.

The grid isn’t static, and neither is technology. Betting solely on "fossil fuel", "coal plants" and "nuclear fission" while dismissing renewables and innovation is not smart IMHO. The only viable long-term nuclear path is "fusion"; and we’re simply not there yet. Rolling out large-scale coal or nuclear fission with current technology is reckless, especially considering the historical disasters we've already witnessed. If we haven’t learned from those, it’s hard to know what more could convince us. It only takes a volatile leader, an unstable individual, or a natural catastrophe to turn a fission facility into a centuries-long hazard for entire populations.

AI and crypto do demand energy, but they’re not inherently incompatible with clean power. In fact, most new data centers are increasingly powered by renewables, and innovations in chip efficiency and cooling tech thus reducing their carbon footprint. While it’s possible the US is shifting away from prioritizing renewable energy, many other nations continue to invest in it with impressive efficiency and success.

Unfortunately, some people will believe an elephant can fly if they're told so; and no amount of reason, logic or facts can change that once the idea takes hold.

The new ES could be more efficient, powerful, aerodynamic, technological, spacious, etc; but I don't like it a bit.
Even the current Camry looks more Executive Sedan IMHO.
Your opinion expressed above is based on your political persuasions. There is no science based on anything you state. There is no concrete evidence that climate change has any anthropogenic influence (https://scnr.com/article/noaa-data-s...930242ac1c0002). Truth be told, that false belief is based on a group of very wealthy global con men. Carbon based fuels will be used for many years ahead. Don't hold your breath waiting for fusion to be significant provider of energy either. We have been hearing these fairy tales for at least 50 years now. Nuclear, LNG, coal, and oil will pave the way for the next 500 years if mankind is still around then. Renewables will never play a significant role either. Remove all government subsides and watch how fast they will fade into the sunset. Just today I found this article that may interest you if you wish to pursue the truth of what is actually occurring in the world. Countries throughout the world are not making multi-billion dollar generational business decisions based on American media propaganda . I'd recommend you stop reading the American main stream (left-wing) media rubbish regarding this topic if you wish to seek the truth about climate change. Check this article out. Very interesting. You can find thousands more just like it.

Yeah, I stand corrected! '26 IS 350 V6 is still alive.
Let's hope the IS gets a better design future than the ES.

I have a very close friend (car enthusiast) who firmly believes the earth is flat; and buys into all kinds of conspiracy theories. No facts, mathematics, physics or scientific evidence will change his mind once he have the "truth", so I’ve learn when to stop arguing and advice everyone to follow.
Also, sometimes its all about perspectives...

This is a lengthy but solid deep dive into the 8th gen ES.
The performance part (29:10) was really interesting. Lexus definitely drop the ball there with the '26 ES; and will probably get hammered even in the China market. We will know the truth by '27.

I could have easily gotten a few more years of trouble free use from my 2014, but when I saw the photos and specs for the 2026, I purchased a 2025.

This ugly crap is ruining the roads of Nurberg:

The car was revealed 2 months ago but they put camo over it. I don't get it.

Looks better with camo though.

It does look better because you can't see that ugly black plastic linear graph on the doors.

the body bulk to brake rotor ratio is ridonkulous. itty bitty rotors. i would think the EV version has bigger rotors? but then it could probably get by mostly on regen braking.

Aoki-san, everybody hates you but all the blame goes to Chiashi-san who owes an apology to all of us.

I looked at the new camry. And I have owned them before. The interior looked like they took a towel to make the material on the dash board. Turned me totally off.
