Default 2024 ES350 Login

My ES keeps asking me to enter a 6 digit pin (which I do, 'cuz I wrote down the pin that was entered when the sales-dude was configuring the car when I picked it up).

Does anyone know what that "sign-in" is for, and why I have to do it every month or so?
Thanks

I bought my new 2024 ES350 L in July and have never needed a PIN. The sales guy did all the computer setup on the car and my Android phone, and I don't recall entering a PIN. Maybe the sales guys used different entries/methods.

...
Per the explanatory text label on the "Account PIN" setting (found following the chain account (stylized person icon) -> Account button -> ACCOUNT SETTINGS -> Security Settings)in the Lexus app:
"A 6 digit code to access your profile on Drive Connect capable vehicles."
As to when and why you're being prompted for your account/profile PIN, there's a (US) Lexus support FAQ USER PROFILE PIN which covers that:
Why am I being prompted to enter my PIN?

You may be prompted to enter the 6-digit PIN when loading your profile to the vehicle or when switching between profiles in the vehicle. We ask for your PIN so we can confirm it's really you. If you are having trouble remembering your User Profile PIN, please use the following link to help you reset your PIN inside the Lexus app. How can I reset my User Profile PIN? (lexus.com)

Why am I being prompted to enter my PIN when my profile is already loaded?

Your vehicle regularly syncs information with the cloud to ensure your profile remains updated and secure. If for any reason your vehicle is not able to connect to the cloud to sync, you may be prompted to enter your 6-digit PIN once your vehicle is back online to make sure it's still you. If you are having trouble remembering your User Profile PIN, please use the following link to help you reset your PIN inside the Lexus app. How can I reset my User Profile PIN? (lexus.com)
Assuming you aren't switching driver profiles, ever now and then "not able to connect to the cloud to sync" is what's the cause of the PIN sign in prompt.

P.S. I see the 202X LEXUS ES250, ES300H, ES350 [NAVIGATION AND] MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL states:
PIN code is not required if a Bluetooth® device is linked to the driver as an identification device.
However, I haven't tried to find out how (if it is possible) to remove required PIN entering from a driver profile once a driver profile has been setup with a user profile PIN.

I suppose the KISS principle is the reason the "default" procedure for driver profile set up shown in how-to videos and used by dealers' set up help pretty much add the profile PIN creation step when it isn't necessarily required.

Data collection, they need a name to connect to your telematics report. Critical functions are withheld if not signed in to enforce your compliance.
