Roof Side Ventilator/Quarter panel vent
 

I had a leak in my trunk and in the process of fixing the leak I found the roof side ventilator. Wanting to know what the purpose of that plastic bracket with rubber flap I went down that rabbit hole. Of course in this process I had to remove it and then I couldn't remember (read, not smart enough to figure it out) how to put it back. I found a thread on the IS forums that linked to a Youtube video.


Apparently the sunroof and windows under certain conditions will cause buffeting in the cabin and this vent will equalize the pressure. The video shows you the R&R of the Roof side ventilator. If you need a new one it's Lexus name is Quarter panel vent with part number 6290406050.

Someone on the Forums recommended Bell Lexus North Scottsdale. They've been great, so much cheaper than the dealer here in Honolulu. They provide free shipping on purchases of less than $100. I have no affiliation with them, I just found them here on the Forum.
