I'm with you... Park far away or find an end spot and park on the outside line... Otherwise, look at vehicles and judge who would be careful with their doors. No dings, dents, scrapes or scratches so far after 5 years...
The weather here in eastern PA is gorgeous right now (79F) so a wash and wax is in the plan. That's on my driveway...
Amazing weather here in the NE this week. Perhaps 80° tomorrow in northern NJ.
I'm not a fan of doing it myself, but I prefer it to the alternatives. Automatic car washes are a risk either because of the brushes or, with the touchless ones, the harsh chemicals and high pressure they use to make up for no brushes. I've also tried the independent hand wash places, but they too seem a little too free with the pressure washer. I keep meaning to find someone who does hand washes with just a hose and buckets.
For now though I do it myself. Once a year I apply 303 Graphene coating, whch means I only have to do a light wash every month or so, which isn't too bad.
I've been looking and waiting for this kind of touch-less auto carwash to be available in my area, haven't found 1 yet.
I'd do this every other week and maybe 1 deep hand-wash every other month...
Unless you use towels/etc to dry the car afterwards, a touch less wash just doesn’t get the car clean and shiny especially if it’s been driven in the rain.
Inused to hand wash all the time but now I just go through a “beater” tunnel a few times a week and my cars are always shiny and spotless. My pearl white is almost always the shiniest car in any parking lot. Probably some of the dirty cars I park next to have perfect paint underneath but you’d never know. I’ve had an unlimited subscription plan to a local beater tunnel and it brings me great joy to always drive a spotless car.

Hmm, after looking at those photos I’ve decided to put my car into a block of Lucite and never drive it agan
And today is a perfect day, because it’s currently spotless although that could be almost any day to be fair.
LOL you should.
I used to have an unlimited wash plan at a tunnel typed soft touch car wash too, but I only use it once or twice a month anyway, I mostly enjoyed the tire shire and free powerful vacuums it has to offer. Now I just bring it to a hand wash place once a month for everything, $40 in and out clean, not bad but even though it is "hand wash", they use the same long handle brush that you see at the self-service wash bays, not ideal, granted it is less lethal than the auto wash.
If I have a touch less auto wash like on the video above, for $8-$10 per wash I'd wash it every week, your car should be clean, very clean if it is also in a garage. Or better if they offer a monthly unlimited subscription, for around $30, I may wash it everyday LOLLLL.
Touchless wash places don’t get the car clean enough for my taste unless the car is wiped down afterwards, so if I’m going that route I’ll just do a coin operated spray wand self wash and bring microfiber towels to wipe it after and it only costs a couple dollars. This is what I do occasionally for my daughters car because it pains me to see it dirty and she doesn’t care much about keeping her car clean. Sigh…
