I wasn’t sure why the dealership told me the defective part might not be covered under warranty but I’m glad in the end it was.
It seems that the F Sport and non-F Sport use the same shock absorbers, except for the F Sport Handling Package with uses AVS electronic shock absorbers.
Due to the firmness/sportiness of the new shock absorbers, the longevity will be reduced, so in another 2 years time, your shock absorbers may go again, and there may not always be warranty for another free set.

I have the 19 F-Sport with AVS with 65K miles and everything is still working fine, I frequently switch b/t normal and Sport+ while driving.
Parts for later model years also have been improved as well and should be better than before, so I think shock absorbers F or non-F should last longer than 35K miles unless your road is filled with pot holes I'll let you guys know when mine are failing.

that is far from certain, it’s not as if the valving is the only difference

and his first shock likely failed due to a manufacturing defect

In the 4GS forum, the shock absorbers are constantly failing since 2013.
Lexus isn't having a quality control issue.

The issue is that the smaller the shock absorber valving for firmer float control, the higher the internal oil pressures which end up causing the seals to fail.
It's like F1 Turbo engines.
Back in the 1990's, the F1 Turbo engines raced at 2.5 Bars [atmospheric pressure], so the engines would have to be rebuilt after only two races.
However, the engines would qualify at 4.5 Bars, but it could only run at 4.5 Bars for 5 minutes, because any longer and the engine would overheat and blow up.
Hence, when we have two identical engines, and one is turbocharged while the other is naturally aspirated, the turbo will break down sooner because it is under higher pressures, while the atmospheric engine is only running at tiny 0.7 Bar pressure.
Ditto firm shock absorbers - the more firm the shock absorber, the higher the internal pressures, and the more diminished the longevity.

There are cars with firm shocks that last a very long time. I’ve owned a few.

The comments on turbo pressure… you’re failing to consider many additional factors.
