Front bumper insert

Default Front bumper insert

My wife hit a tire on the interstate and it broke the insert on her 19 Fsport......Does that thing just pop in? Has anyone messed with these?

This looks like the correct part?

It should just pop in, but you'll need to make sure the clips on the back aren't broken..

It looks like to me the insert connectors broke off in the mounts on the bumper...so hopefully just removing the broken pieces and inserting the new one works

If the clips and/or inserts are broken, I'd be so cheap that I would just hot glue it back on.

Thats a good point. Another issue is the price of the part, in addition to the part actually even being available during these times.

Some quickset Epoxy would definitely fix those clips if they broke on the bumper side. Hot glue would probably work but I would be worried if it’s long-term ability to hold with epoxy you’d have to cut it out.

Please correct me if I'm wrong about this, but will you need to take your bumper off and repaint the area that's scratched before you put a new bumper insert in it? Or will you just try to buff out the scratches as best as possible and put a new insert in the bumper? Which option have you decided to do?

Probably will just try to buff it out, really the insert missing is really noticeable but the scratches are not. So main concern is getting the insert fix, wife will probably hit something else so no point in getting new paint ha.
