Default Temperature on the HUD

Has anyone noticed the HUD displays the temperature during start up? Then it disappears.
I don't think I never noticed this before until this morning. I turned off the car and restarted just to make sure I saw what I saw.

That said, I guess there's no way to add it permanently? Not that it really matters, just curious. Just weird as the temp shows up right away on your dash anyway.

So to clarify, you're saying the HUD comes on and shows the temperature (outside, interior, engine...?) on the windshield and disappears? My ES is about a month old and I haven't noticed anything like that.

Yes. Outside temp. Sorry for the bad photo. Bright and sunny day, but enough for you to see

...
After you mentioned it, I looked for it on my 2019 ES 350 Ultra Luxury and the outside temperature does get displayed by the HUD during start up. I also noticed initially you get a HUD projected twinkling blue stars (like displayed on the instrument panel during start up) field. Then right after that, when the "normal" HUD display is projected "x1000" briefly gets displayed above the right side of the tachometer (and below the mph display portion). It looks like the "x1000" appears when the outside temperature does but the time interval it is displayed is much briefer than the temperature display.

X1000 should be related to rpm perhaps.

That's what I interpreted it to be - a scale multiplier label for the tachometer display part of the HUD. (That also correlates with the non-F Sport's instrument panel tachometer display with the "x1000RPM" scale multiplier label.)

I was thinking the same but afraid to admit it. LOL

Me neither, perhaps because I never have it turned on. Man I hate that option - so distracting.

Never noticed before until now. Thanks OP. I actually really like the HUD, but on the rare occasion I let my son drive it, he hates it and turns it off. Each to their own I guess

Add this to the "never seen before" in the three years of ownership. The HUD was supposed to have the SPEED LIMIT, STOP and YIELD signs appear on the glass. Don't think I'd ever seen anything other than the Speed Limit, and who pays attention to that anyway.

Was this always there? First time seen on the left-side driver's display, probably because that screen is generally set to four-tire inflation info.

It's the stupidest thing. It's claimed the stop/yield/speed limit signs are based on the car's camera, but it's not. I suspect it's uses the gps.
Yes, the yield and stop sign shows up on the dash only. It would be nice to have it on the HUD. The HUD is there for a reason right?
I've seen this on the dash because when I bought the car, I knew it had road side assist (RSA). I was so frustrated trying to find this "feature". When I finally saw it on the dash (only), it's so underwhelming. Especially in the F Sport model. I don't want to move my gauge over just so it can tell me a stop sign is in front of me.

When I saw the STOP graphic, I was in a large parking lot with stop signs at every aisle. The word disappeared and reappeared as I passed each one.

The SPEED LIMIT on the HUD and the driver's display must be tied to the camera, because when driving on I-95, with five or six lanes across, the SL is not displayed unless it sees a road sign. Most of the time, you need to be in the extreme right hand lane for the sign to be recognized by the camera. If you drive too far left, the speed limit only shows up on the NAV screen, which is tied in to GPS updated software.

Definitely recognized by the camera.
