Haven't tried it with head up display, but I've always had good results with Invisible Glass, a spray cleaner available at auto parts stores. The issue with using regular Windex-type cleaners is that sunlight makes the interior plastics "off-gas" molecules that cling to the glass. You need a solvent-type cleaner to remove them; household glass cleaners just smear them around.

That's where the "magic eraser" comes in. It cuts the film on the glass that emanates from plastics and totally eliminates smearing. And that's on the inside and outside.

Agree with Lee, probably very expensive to install in a non HUD car... Regarding the "B" pillars, just read an article that WD-40 cleans and protects the black painted finish.
I can not agree more. I just bought an ES 350 UL and HUD would be the only thing I would cancel If I was custom ordering this car. On the other hand, triple beam light are must have in my opinion. I love them.

With the 2022 Ultra Luxury the HUD is standard equipment which most likely means no custom ordering avenue of not getting a HUD on an Ultra Luxury.

That said; starting with the 2022 model year (provided you can live with your vehicle forever branded as a mere Luxury model and not the more prestigious Ultra Luxury model) you can plus up a Luxury model with options and add-on packages to obtain [with one exception] the same feature set in a Luxury model as you would get in an Ultra Luxury model minus the HUD. (The one exception you can't get on a Luxury model is the manual rear door sunshades.) Granted that wasn't possible in previous model years but that is no longer true now.

For more details on the 2022
Luxury versus Ultra Luxury feature set offerings see post number 19 in the "I have to ask the bad question." thread on this forum.

yep, i know HUD came with it. Mine was just a hypothetical comment . I am not a fan of car makers prepackaging bunch of options on upper trims. You end up with stuff that you do not want. For instance, I wanted to have an ES350 UL with 17" rims and tires but that is not even an option. One must buy it with 18s. My dealer did not want to swap them with 17s. original 17" set is quoted at $4100 which is absurd. Tirerack have the same combo for $2100. In my opinion, every option should be a stand alone on you could pick and choose. I am sure that would make the car production a nightmare though..))))

If my F-Sport had an analog speedometer, I would not be using my HUD as much. Easier for me to read the MPH number on the HUD rather than reading it on the normal display.

I don't get that as they're both digital.

I didn't want HUD or the triple beam HL in my car but had to take them to get an UL 350. But... after seeing how nice the triple beams looked, how nice the illumination is, I'm happy that they were included. Lot of money though...

Yes, they are both digital. What I'm really missing from the analog speedometer is the needle.

But you're not getting that on the HUD either.

On a standard analog speedometer, like the ones I have on my 2006 IS250 and my 2001 Ford Ranger, I have real (not digital) needles pointing to printed MPH numbers, 10, 20, 30, 40 & so on.

The position of these real needles is a quick shorthand of how my speed is varying, except when using cruise control.

If the F-Sport had the option of an analog speedometer, even with the digital needle pointing to digital numbers, I would be happy not using the HUD.

Again, it's easier for me to read the digital speed numbers on my HUD rather than looking for them amid the clutter of the digital display.

This is clutter in your mind??

This might be worth looking at. It replaces the driver's side speaker cover for HUD. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002070347368.html

Do the 2022 non-ULs have the front and rear performance dampers? (For the 2019s, only the ULs had this)

As I discussed in the post number 19 link reference, model feature sets and available add-ons have changed quite a lot over the years since the initial 2019 model year. At the bottom of that referenced post are directions on how to find on the [US] Lexus web site a comparison spreadsheet like listing showing all 12 ES model offerings and the standard features and the available add-on options and packages for each of the models. Expanding the spreadsheet's "PERFORMANCE" section reveals amongst other features "Lateral performance dampers" and the check marks in that row shows the models having them.

The 2022 base models ( 250 AWD, 350 & 300h) do not have performance dampers; all the other Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport model versions have them. (If I'm remembering correctly, I think 2022 is the first year for Luxury models to have performance dampers.)
