Default 2020 ES350 remote start malfunctioning?

Hi guys. I just purchased the 2020 ES 350 two weeks ago. Everything was perfect until the remote start stopped working a week ago. The winter is hell here. I really need that function.

To be exact, the Enform app stopped working. The mileage, range, last parked location and driving score did not update any more. The remote services including start, lock and unlock do not work. Also the emergency SOS button turned red.

Called customer service, they could not connect to the vehicle. Told me to take to dealer for initialization handshake(?) and gave them a service bulletin(?).

After 2 hours the dealer said they could not download the data because it was 2020, a new model.

I'm not sure why that is an issue. But they said they have to contact Lexus to figure it out...

So I am still waiting to hear back from them.

Does anyone else have similar issue? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Some have had issues with Enform, deleted it and reinstalled it and it was resolved. This is poor on Lexus' part. Should be able to be fixed by the dealer IT person. Make sure you installed the latest Enform app as there were two until recently. One original and then an updated app... Should be a black filled in circle with white Lexus "L' in the center...

Remember that you can also remote start your car by pressing the "lock" button on the smart key three times, holding it in on the third press until the car starts... Don't need the internet or any phone.

Thanks. I did try redownload on 2 phones but still it did not work.

The key works but the thing is my garage and the parking lot at work are both too far for it to work ...

I just purchased a 2020 ES 350 and experienced the same issue with the remote app start not allowing me to start or lock/unlock my doors. I tried everything. My dealer got it to work again but after about a week it stopped working. My dealer could not get it to work again. The Tech person at my dealer said another person who purchased a 2020 ES 350 had the same problem. Finally, the tech person at my dealer called the Lexus Tech Dept. in Texas. They told him they are aware of the problem and that it apparently only affects some 2020 Lexus models. They also told him they expect to have a fix sometime in January, 2020. I hope they do while we still have winter weather.

When there were problems with getting the Enform Remote app to work properly a couple of years ago and after those issues were resolved, Lexus ultimately did a good will extension of the subscriptions for those who had experienced the problems.

In some cases, Lexus extended those subscriptions on their own. In other cases, the subscriptions were extended after the car owners called and requested the extension. In my case, after I called and requested the extension, my Enform Remote subscription was extended by a full year. So, I would suggest that, after the issue is resolved, those affected should call and ask for an extension. Also, a call right now would be a good idea so that you have documentation that you do do have a problem and that you have tried to work with Lexus or the dealer to resolve it.

Default Remote service failure

Just talked to the technical support and they say they are still working on it to fix for ES and NX 2020 models. Lexus is awesome at everything except for tech.

Ask for a free extension. Lesz is right - we received an extra year for our 2017 and never had any issues with it anyway.

Remote for my 2020 NX also stopped working last Friday. Called Lexus Enform guest services and they sent a 6 digit code, once Friday and then again on Saturday but it didn't work. I'm going to try using the SOS button since they told me that might be easier. I was getting an error message saying I needed to be re-identified as the vehicle owner which is strange.

This is a known issue. I pretty much tried the same thing for at least three times. Guess the only thing we can do is to wait for the fix. Hope I could get an extension of service after this gets resolved. Any comments on if/how this works?

I just tried the remote app on my 2020 ES350 and everything worked perfectly including the engine start/stop. Make sure you download the correct app. I'm using the newer Lexus app, not the Lexus Enform app.

Last night I hit the SOS button and told them about the issue but they told me they were not the ones responsible for it and gave me a phone number to call which turned out to be for Toyota. Called Lexus back again and spent the better part of 30 minutes standing outside my vehicle while they tried various things which didn't work either. They finally came back and told me the same thing you said in that it's a known issue (he said for 20 NXs but I'm sure it's for other vehicles as well) and that they are working on a fix. He did say they want to call back today and try some other things but I doubt that's going to do anything. It's rather mild right now so not having remote start isn't that big of a deal but the first of next week the temps are supposed to drop back down into the teens in the morning.

Go download the old version of Lexus app which is called Lexus Enform and see if you can get it to work using that app.

I got my '20 UL on 22 Dec. The remote services worked fine for the 1st week. Then they stopped. I've been in touch with Lexus/Enform since then. We've tried reinstalling the app, reactivating, unenrolling/reenrolling, etc. -- all to no avail. Last Wed. I was told that the problem was fixed but that didn't happen. So there's still an open case. I'm supposed to receive an update from Customer Care on Tuesday. Once this is resolved I'll ask for a year of free Enform as "goodwill."

I'm really curious why everything worked fine for the first week and then stopped.
