My Es is 30 days old with 1600 miles on it and today while traveling about 5 hours from home, this message came on: Parking Support Brake Malfunction. Along with check engine symbol. Cruise control stopped functioning at that time.
“
. Visit your Dealer.”
The cruise control stopped working when this happened.
Anyone ever have this happen or know anything about this?
Had his happen to me once, but not at such a low mileage. That light can represent a dozen different problems, all of which dis-able the cruise control. They'll diagnose it in a few minutes once they get the car. Obviously still under warranty; enjoy the loaner!
Went to the dealer in Shreveport and they said it’s the fuel level sensor. They reset it and said it’s good to go. I’m going to have it looked at when I get back in New Orleans.
My 19 F-Sport had the same message on the Odometer saying something about Parking Support Brake Malfunction Visit Your Dealer...
Font and back parking sensor lights were flashing (car still driving fine just those lights are flashing and those sensors don't work anymore), no check engine light, cruise control is working fine. If I turn off the parking assist features those 2 lights will not flashing anymore. I forgot to take picture of these to show you guys.
Then few day later, another message came up on the infotainment screen saying: "advanced ultrasonic detecting and ranging system malfunction...", basically I guess the feature where you backing up it will detect if there is incoming traffic and it will beep and sometime brakes the damn car for you, I hate this **** LOL. See attach below for picture of this error.
Dealer took it in under warranty (it currently has a little over 40K mile), they also recommend to change all for tires + wheel alignment for ~$1,400, which seems ... fair but I decline, I am thinking to get rid of the car, main reason is the seats are too un-comfy. I will update when I get the car back, will take like 1 week because they need to order parts, got an 21 IS300 as loaner, it drives and feels horribly bad in and out... oh well.

I had an IS loaner recently and was also unimpressed. Very small inside and still a bit dated. Tiny info screen as well.

30 days old and already having issues? Wow. Maybe it is a good thing Lexus is moving ES production back to Japan. Maybe Lexus is spared but some auto makers are suffering from quality issues during pandemic due to workers shortage and they put people who maybe not have usual trainings or experience doing the tasks and they are being rushed to meet deadlines.
It is going to be interesting to see studies comparing pandemic vehicles vs precovid ones.

Yup, we know it's base model but I feel like too small and lack of almost all "luxury features (sat memory, unlock/lock on door handles other than the driver-side, auto climate and steering wheel, seats and steering wheel won't move back when you turn off the car - just to name a few, and all of these future, a much cheaper Honda and Toyota has them all, so what is their excuses LOL) , understand we came from an ES but still I don't like it at all. The UX is small but it is much better LOL

He posted this 3 years ago, and with modern cars everything is controlled by computers, electronic devices and computer chips, anything can happens at anytime, Lexus or BMW lol, I don't make a big deal about it, but of course expect Lexus is more liable...
I remember sitting in a new RX when I took my ES in and I liked how bouncy and thick they felt. The ES seems like it's trying to have sports car seats.

I think the features on a given vehicle factor into this perception or feel. The UX loaner we had for a few days while accessories were being installed on our RX (and one missing part was being shipped) was terrible. The single piece plastic door panels felt very cheap. Our last Prius “felt” more upscale than this particular UX. I imagine a loaded luxury version would be much nicer, but the base UX is definitely just a simple commuter ride - in my opinion. I imagine the base IS would feel lacking as well.
