Default driver seat memory

Drivers seat does not always go to the preset position when starting the car. I thought there was a thread about this problem can anyone help?

The only time I experienced this was when I had a key mismatched to the corresponding memory number. I think there is a "key 1" and "key 2" that correspond to "memory 1" and "memory 2" seating positions in the car.

I'm not sure if the ES is this way, but our RX does this. Try setting your seat position to memory 1 and 2 so it goes to the same position no matter which key you use.

The ES does have the ability to have unique memory settings based on the key, but there is a process to storing it that way. Cannot recall the procedure right off hand. Anyway, the suggestion sounds like a good starting point. I can’t think of anything else and don’t recall a previous thread on this.

The manual is your friend. Depending upon whether or not you have NAV, you may be able to program/re-save the seat memory. Look for "Customizable Features/Driving position memory" in the manual...probably towards the back of the main manual.

Setting seat memory is one step and marrying a fob to that position is a second step. All clear in the manual. It works flawlessly in both our RX and ES.

Registering procedure
Record your driving position to button “1”, “2” or “3” before performing the
following:
Carry only the key you want to register, and then close the driver’s door.
If 2 or more keys are in the vehicle, the driving position cannot be recorded
properly.
1. Check that the shift lever is in P.
2. Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
3. Recall the driving position that you want to record.
4. While pressing the recalled button,
press and hold the door lock
switch (either lock or unlock) until
the buzzer sounds.
If the button could not be registered,
the buzzer sounds continuously for
approximately 3 seconds.
Memory recall function (driver’s side only)
