Default Dash protection

Bought a ‘23 300h. The lower dash was a bit scuffed - enough for me to buy a replacement. I found out the material is super easy to scratch. Sigh.

Does anyone have any experience with Apex Auto Products Interior Ceramic Coating?? If so, will it offer ANY protection from scuffs or is a waste of money? Thanks!!

The coating will only protect against dirt basically, the material Lexus chose for the dash is so fragile, a scratch/scuff would go right through the coating.

Many threads on this for many years. I use Adams interior detailer which hides the scuffs pretty well.

There are many posts regarding this issue and the poor material Lexus used for the dash. I believe that the same material has been used since the inception of the 7th. generation in 2019. Complaints to Lexus and their SM do nothing and no chemical or application has been found to eliminate the scuffs. As Mike stated, some will cover them for a period but they always show back up. I've been using water on the dash since 2018 on my 2019 UL 350 and it has, after 6 years, almost totally eliminated them. However one must be very careful not to create more... A disappointment with Lexus that has not been addressed.

GGOD LUCK with your new car

My dash is fine, but I notieced some scuffs on my black door handle. Don't laugh, I took just a dab of black shoe polish. Rubbed it in and buffed it. After 9 months, still covers it. In the light I can see a slight scuff but the color is still nice and black.

I picked up a 2025 ES300h UL on Black Friday. When I first sat in the car I noticed a scratch on the dash. It was so deep you fingernail would catch in it.

I asked the salesman if there was anything they could do about it. The dealer was one in a chain of nine. The salesman said the owner only let one guy work on the car interiors at any of the dealerships. They called him and he came in to take a look.

I have no idea what he did and did not get to witness it. The scratch was just gone. Absolutely no sign of it ever having been there. This was on a black interior too.

I will try. The dealership is five hours away. I have reached out to my salesman about it. I will report back any findings.

I recall that in one of those threads, one of our posters from outside the states (maybe our friend in Dubai? Don't remember for sure) said that ES's made in Japan had more scratch-resistant dashes than the ones made in the States. I have no idea whether this is true. I also don't know whether the '25 ES is being made in Japan, although it was scheduled to be.

That’s a good question as there is a lot of conflicting stuff on line about it. The hybrids are made in Japan but it is unclear if they really did stop ICE production of the ES in Kentucky, which was scheduled to be revamped for EV production. The easiest way to find out is to look at VIN’s, with a ‘J' as the first digit for cars built in Japan.

The VIN on my 2025 ES300h UL starts with a '5'.

Made in the US (a ‘2’ would mean Canada, where the RX is made).
