Dash Cam Installation
I have a 2020 es300h. I want to install a Nextbase Rear Window camera and I'm wondering whether anyone has ideas on how to draw power to it directly from rear personal lights or some other source in the back window area? I am using a Dongar Pro to power a Nextbase 622gw in the front window dash cam but would prefer not to have to install wire from front to the rear dash cam if possible. Thanks.
Running the cable to the back was surprisingly easy for my install. I ran the cable from the front, down the A pillar on the weatherstripping side, down the floorboard under the trim, all the way past the B pillar on the floor, then up the side from the floor of the c pillar to the roof and to the rear windshield. Easiest wire run that I've had to do, just make sure you have long enough of a cable. I have a A119 that come with a 6m cable I think, and that was more than enough.
^what he said. Running the wire is super easy.
Not familiar with Nextbase 622gw but is the rear camera part of that model? Usually the power wire is also what sends the data to the front camera too, unless it's wireless.
