I'm pretty sure all A4's and A6's are hybrids (I don't pay attention to SUVs, they may be as well). They're the "mild hybrid" with a 48-volt system that's mostly supposed to supplement low-speed acceleration a little bit.

 

The Q5's come in a PHEV if you want one. They perform quite well too (0-60 in 5 seconds according to Audi but slacks a bit in the mpg department at 26 combined).

 

Shopping for an ES right now. I’ve asked two different dealerships about the 2025 model and so far both of them said they don’t know anything except that the car is going to be 4 inches longer than the present model. I thought this was kind of crazy myself and don’t know if this would apply to every type of ES that may exist in 2025 but wonder if anyone else has heard the same information?

 

I hadn't heard it, but history suggests that all ES variations will be the same length. I do know that when the AWD version was added for 2020 or '21, the dealers heard about it before the press did.

 

I've found that the sales people know the least about these cars so I never ask them. Have my doubts that the car will be extended by 4"...

Four inches ain't much. I remember a Detroit car decades ago where they wanted to boast that the most expensive trim level was better, so they made it about that much longer than the others — by adding little rubber bumper guards.

apparently the front will be similar to this and the rear will receive RX treatment with light bar. like the camry, the rest will remain pretty much the same.

If it's true, there's a chance the 7ES will have the better looking exterior. i really dislike light bars =/ especially the RX one.

i'm more excited to see the interior. I hope they fix the thin materials aesthetic and bring back the supple nature of the 6ES interior which looked quite rich for the price.

 

What's your source for this picture? Is it MY2025? 7th or 8th gen? Also, where did you get the 60K number from?

 

Re: “Ready to drop 60K?” Well, they can currently get near that. My ‘22 ES350 UL was $56K back when dealers weren’t dealing, and given the pattern with the RX that probably won’t be too far off the mark.

In a way it makes sense from Lexus’ perspective. If you want a large, well equipped sedan but are more price focused then get a Camry. Lexus is, I think, tying to differentiate themselves a bit more from their more affordable stable mates, and, if they are to actually be a premium brand, their pricing structure and vehicles should reflect that reality. Hopefully they are learning their lesson with making vehicles that are so similar that customers are asking, “Why should I pay $15+K more for the Lexus badge?” when even the interiors are similar. They will still have the UX and NX for more entry level shoppers, but Lexus needs to act a bit more of the part in the premium arena.

 

I don't think it will look like this. Also, I don't believe it will be that longer than the current version.

Regarding the price, it will be more than $60K. For example, in Europe the current model is $75K+.
