Dents Around Sunroof 2016 ES 350

You also drive a car none of the members of this forum do. ALL manufacturers have dents in the sunroof. Google it. It is impossible to economically build a chassis that won't somehow some way bend the sunroof corners. It's unfortunate your ES's have this issue, but I'd bet a whole lot of money you could stroll through a parking lot and see this issue on many cars. If you think you bought a Lexus because it's the pinnacle of engineering, I think you bought the wrong Lexus. They only bestow that honor on the LS series. The ES and IS are "entry level" and reflect it in many ways.

Guess some of us are luckier than others but it’s clearly an structural integrity/rigidity and torsion issue with the supports around the sunroof. Like I mentioned in my initial post, my 2007 Lexus ES has it in all 4 corners so the fact that this is obviously still an issue in the latest model ES is troubling to say the least. My wife’s 2015 IS is not having this issue so far so I’m keeping my fingers crossed it doesn’t crop up.

I don’t give a fck if it’s a Nissan Sentra or Rolls Royce as NO one walks into a dealership to buy either with the expectation that indentations will form around the sunroof. And just because you can observe this problem on many different brands of vehicles doesn’t legitimize it lol 😂! And this original thread was about an IS having the same problems so it’s not exclusive to MY ES hence the reason I commented here. As for your ignorant correlation between the model of Lexus and this issue, .... well let me explain to you something I shouldn’t have to with regards to Lexus and that is the ES is their bread and butter model meaning Lexus sells more ES than all other models combined so I highly doubt they cut corners on the roof design or make it any different than the LS. The reason this issue shows up on the ES is simply due to numbers. Lexus sold 58,299 ES in 2016 vs 5514 LS so it goes without saying (or at least should) that these types of issues or any issues for that matter have a higher probability of being seen on the ES than the LS. Another thing I’d like to point out is that “better built” LS loses it’s resale value twice as fast as it’s “inferior” (according to your logic or lack thereof) little bro the ES. How do I know this? I looked into buying the LS before coming back to the ES. So to assume that I wouldn’t be having this issue if I had bought an LS is laughable and besides the point.

Update
My local Lexus dealership did pay to have the dent repaired and it looks great! So I guess it depends on the dealership but it’s worth taking yours in if it’s still under manufacturers warranty.
