Default 2016 model question

We are in the market for a 2016 ES 350 and the grill seems to be different for some of the vehicles we are looking at. Was there a "2016.5" model?
Our goal is to make a purchase this weekend. We are going to try to deal on an Atomic Silver model that has a gorgeous interior--it is a brown/tan mix inside.
Thanks in advance!

The grill was changed after 2015, so all 2016's have the newer design. There were also several noticeable changes done inside that others can address.

yeah like the poster above said, there are no F sports for the ES. so the grill is either the older (pre 16) or the newer (after 16) designs. everything else on the exterior for the same model year should be identical minus all black roof for panorama roof options, and the rear spoiler. oh and rim size.

I found an example of a local vehicle that is supposedly a '16 but has the '15 grill.... Something I am missing? Or maybe dealer dishonest here?
Thanks.

That car is definitely a 2013, 2014, or 2015 ES.

Maybe it was in an accident and was repaired with an older model Grill?

Yeah, not a '16+. Is this a Lexus dealer? You should also look at the VIN, in any case.

If you can obtain the VIN you can run it on this forum. Go up top to "tools" and look for "VIN decoder". As the others have stated, not a 2016...

dealers quite often mislabel their car description i assume sometimes on purpose just to get people to show more interest or to get them down to the dealership, but often times by mistake. sometimes the sales ppl at dealer dont know crap about the vehicle they're trying to sell and because they have tons of information about their cars and whatnot just flying around, wrong information can be put in.

anyhow, yes that is a pre 16 model.

I should have replied. The VIN does indicate it is a '16 model. We are not pursuing this one anymore based on input here.
Thanks to everyone.

We are going to go to a local dealer tomorrow to negotiate pricing on an Atomic Silver ES350 with the Flaxen interior. It has 10261 miles on it.
We will be saying goodbye to our 2005 Acura RSX Type S. Selling it to a friend who is a car guy. Looking forward to getting something larger and newer for my wife!

Did you actually see that car in person, or have you only seen pictures of it? If you have only seen the pictures, there is the possibility that the dealer mistakenly used the wrong pictures when advertising the car.

+1, this is more common than you might think.

Something doesn't add up here. Either the photo is incorrect or the VIN belongs to a different car. Could be an honest mistake but definitely errors involved by dealer.

GOOD LUCK with your decision on the other ES. Come back and let us know how you make out..
