Default OEM Remote Start (PT398-33131) Instructions.

Hi,
I purchased the OEM Remote Start for my '13 ES350 as it was on sale. I have searched everywhere and the only thing I could find was a dead link to sewell's website back when they sold parts. If anyone has a link or copy of the manual they could post that would be great. Also if anyone is looking for the OEM remote start they have it for ~$60 online at various dealers. Thank You.

According to Lexus Parts Now this part does not fit a 2013 ES 350... https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/...bmodel=&Filter=()

Yeah I saw that, I think its a mistake. MYLPARTS shows as compatible. I had contacted them and they said its compatible.

I installed the oem remote start. Taking apart the trim pieces was super easy. I had some trim opening tools that i got off of amazon that worked well. The hardest part was the knee airbag. It has a plastic trim piece that goes over a metal airbag bracket, making it quite difficult taking it off. Another difficult step was to attach the metal bracket to the ecu. It took a lot of force for the bracket to slide on. Also the short pin the instructions refer to is already installed in the correct spot, no need to mess with it. As for techstream to program, it is required but it can be done with the cheap ebay clones. So a dealer visit isn't required. It also came with all the stickers with the logos and warning labels as well. Overall for $60 I think it was worth it.

Congrats! Don't expect it to work from more than say 100'. That's the one draw back from using the factory remote. I'm sure you were aware of that going in, though.

Yeah that and the engine cuts off when you open the door, pretty much standard for Toyota/Lexus remote start. All that was fine with me as my use for it would work fine with the limitations. Plus it was cheap enough too. Definitely not worth the $400/$500 it cost a while back to have it installed. Aftermarket would be better for that price.

Hello L3xusfan,
I'm doing the same thing to my 2013 ES350. However, in the last step of using techstream, I keep getting failure when doing ECU Communication ID Registration. Do you have any idea what may be wrong? Thanks.
Update: the registration process goes well (and in the final the hazard lights flash twice as on the manual). However, the remote start is not functioning at all.
Update 2: OK so it works. The secret is not to press the first two lock too quick and hold the third one longer than 3 secs.
