Would you keep a Triple A membership if your Lexus had 24/7 roadside assitance?
Hello All,
I recently purchased a 5 year certified upgrade to my 2016 ES 350.
I was able to get a pretty good deal on the upgrade, $2940.00 for 5 years / unlimited mileage (warranty code: WLW).
Given that my warranty will expire in September 2026, I'm wondering if I should keep my Triple A membership?
The good thing about Triple A is that they will take you to whatever location you want (within 100 miles) if your car breaks down, whereas Lexus' roadside assistance (which uses Triple A), will only take you to the nearest Lexus dealer (or Toyota dealer if no Lexus dealer is nearby).
Another good thing about keeping my Triple A membership is that I can use it with any car that I drive, whereas Lexus' 24/7 roadside assistance can only be used with my Lexus.
The reason this could be an issue, is that I occasionally use other family vehicles, though now that I have my Lexus, I doubt I'll be using other vehicles as much.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Dan

Lead Lap
I'd keep it because it covers ALL of my cars, not just one... And I would have passed on the upgraded warranty and put the money in the bank...

I see your point about the warranty, but given that I plan on keeping my car for the long haul (and that it comes with 40 computers onboard), I don't want to deal with electrical failures myself in the future, as they aren't cheap or easy to fix.
Also keep in mind that this warranty is for unlimited miles, so whether I drive my car for 100,000 miles or 250,000 miles, practically everything is covered (other than normal wear and tear).
Though these cars are some of the most reliable out there, something is bound to fail by then, and when it does, it probably won't be cheap to fix (easily 1000.00 to 2500.00 to fix).
Thanks,
Dan

AAA also gets you discounts on hotels, rental cars, some insurance, etc. There are perks outside of just the roadside assistance. Anyways, when you call Lexus roadside they just send AAA lol.
I still have my AAA membership mainly because my mother is included on it and her car is old. If it were just us and our new cars I'd cancel it.
