i have noticed that the 6th gen es 350 trade in value is literally under $1000 if that compared to private party sell
is this unique to lexus?
i have never seen it be so close before

It depends on supply and demand
it changes every month or so
however, many wholesalers are getting their retail license so they can sell a car private party/retail, that they purchased at the auction. This is bringing the gap even closer. If a dealer wants a popular car, he has to be willing to pay more for it.
