I think you're it. Good news for the 300h owners...

You're well ahead of me. My 2014 has only 45,000 miles also trouble free. Your report is encouraging as I plan to keep the ES300h a long time.

Amazing. Can you tell us what maintenance have you done? Changed CVT or any other fluids?

Does it still run as quietly and smoothly as when it was new?

Changed brake pads?

Any info on battery condition? I've heard of Camry hybrid taxis reaching 200k miles on the original battery pack but this is the first I've heard of a mile-munching ES300h. It would be interesting to see min/max voltage and resistance figures for each cell using an OBD reader.

It is clear that these batteries last to very large charge discharge cycles so mileage should not be an issue. Any data on the years? 10 years is not a long time. I am thinking of putting $500 a year in a separate account just for a new battery in a few years.

I just hit 100K on mine. I plan to keep it 4 more years and hopefully under 150K as the HV Battery is covered 10Y 150K under CARB State Rules.

Have either of you changed your transmission fluid? The manual says no, my local Lexus Service manager with 26 years experience with Lexus and has been trained in the Lexus transmission factory in Detroit says absolutely no. He says changing can do more harm then good yet members on here with zero experience are saying it needs to be changed.

300h doesn't really have a transmission in the way we think of a traditional Ice vehicle. The cvt is really a power split device. The fluid is not under significant pressures like a traditional transmission. As such, changing cvt fluid is like changing a differential...drain it and the refill to the fill plug. Done that to our Camry hybrid a couple times but not our 300h as it only has 36k miles. If anything, changing the fluid in the cvt is not as "critical" as changing fluid in a traditional tranny, depending on the maker. I change fluid regularly on my 18 year old gmc truck since it's operated in the desert and it does some towing (195k miles). That fluid will break down in time. And it's a GM. The "sealed" Aisin 6 speeds on most of the Toyotas require a convoluted process to.measure proper fluid level.. Your service advisor is just spewing the company line. That's why he's been there for over 2 decades. WS tranny fluid isn't even synthetic, like all fluids it will break down, but maybe not within the typical " lifetime" ownership. They probably experienced a lot of tranny replacements at some point due to the convoluted fluid measuring process, that they decided to recommend not changing it to save the hassle long-term. it's all about risk management and the bottom line. (Yes, that is my opinion only, have no concrete proof, but we are dealing with a billion dollar company whose purpose is to make money and I deal with risk management everyday). Since I plan on keeping my cars to at least 200k, i change fluids because heat kills trannys and it's hot here. However, if fluid change is not done routinely, there's debate whether to even start after 90 or 100k miles. You might refresh all the additives and what not in the fluid, but all the particulates from the clutch packs wearing down have ingrained themselves into all the little check ball holes , separator plates , valves, and whatnot and if you suddenly remove them, you might find yourself with immediate transmission issues. Of course if you live in in place where it never goes above 100 degrees, you could go with the Toyota party line well into 100k miles and not have an issue. As with anything,YMMV. sorry for the novel. (BMW has sealed trannys too, but they're starting to recommend service according to some of my neighbors, but well, it's a BMW, not a Toyota lol)

No! This is my 4 hybrid and I will not change the transmission fluid on a Toyota/Lexus Hybrid. I did it once on the wife's old Prius at 100K when I did the Spark Plugs and Both Coolants. I don't think it is necessary and is not recommended by the manufacturer.

Just wanted to check if you still own the car? If so how many miles you’re at?

155,000 on a 2014 ES/UL still going great. I think I got a little water in the sunroof, so it is intermittent. Otherwise, regular OEM maintenance and everything working 100%. One or two wear parts replaced, but at 10 years, I have no issues, that's expected. Gunna upgrade to a 2026 is my plan...if they still make ICE ES's. LOL!

Default might be me

Currently at 193,000 miles on a 2013 ES300h. Still the original hybrid battery and even the original 12V AGM battery in the trunk.
