Just realized we've got no thread for 2018 ES pricing. People already reporting 20% off of MSRP for 2017 models but for my case, there are no nearby dealership with 2017 ES models in stock. I talked to a dealership and got a quote for 2018 model. Maybe we can discuss about the pricing from there. The model I asked had premier pkg + blinds spot monitor + intuitive park assist + wood and leather trimmed steering wheel + rear spoiler and all weather mats. Dealer asked for $36300. That was roughly 14% off of MSRP. What do you think?

Based on options, msrp around $43k. That is a very good price. Coming off the street, most are looking at $39-40k . Good luck.

MSRP for model I got was 48889 has luxury pkg, nav pkg, rear shade, heated steering, alloy locks, mats, parking assist, blind spot etc. got it for 4500 off MSRP

Are you sure it isn't a UL?

I have a feeling the 2018 ES will be limited in production. I just went to the Lexus site and wanted to see what changes, if any, there were to the UL version. Apparently, they aren't readily available in the Chicagoland area, since I couldn't build one on-line. There is one at my local dealer, though. MSRP is $49,200, which is why I'm thinking the one you're looking at is a UL.

Edit: I just saw your other post, where you said it's a hybrid. That would make up the difference.

Even considering that the car that he bought was a hybrid, the MSRPs for the ES have crept up during the 6 years of the Generation 6 ES run. For the 2013 and 2014 model years, you could have bought a nicely-equipped Luxury package ES 350 with an MSRP of under $45,000. When I was at the Lexus dealer a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that, now, similarly-equipped Luxury package ESs have MSRPs right around $47,000.

I think that a significant factor leading to the higher MSRPs relates to the Safety + package becoming standard on all ES starting with the 2017 model year.

On the other hand, even though MSRPs have risen for the ES, actual selling prices may be lower now than they were in 2013 or 2014. For the last couple of years, people have been able to buy a new ES, even at the very beginning of the model year, with discounts in the range of 12-14% off from MSRP, and with even much bigger discounts later in the model year. That certainly was not the case in 2013 or 2014.

Thanks for the input. So I emailed them to finalize the deal but they say the car is gone, and no other 2018 models are available for $36000 range. What a waste of my time and their time... I'll start talking to another dealer in my area and will update this thread.

Discounting from the dealer (on ES and RX models) will differ greatly I'm seeing on 2017 and 2018 models (lower discount on 2018)? Plus Lexus cash back only applies to 2017 models (not the 2018)? Newbie questions, but I'm looking to get something in the next week or two and weighing out RX, ES options (both new & used).

Every ES hybrid I looked at local dealers and regional dealers all had the car at 48889. This was a 2018. 1500 Lexus cash back.

Just my opinion, but I would holding off on paying top dollars for 2018 ES. The 2018 Camry is much better in term of handling, fuel economy, a new chassis. That will transfer to the even better redesign 2019 ES. Just get the exact 2016/2017 ES if you can't wait, or wait to 2019.

Camry is smaller, so your pluses are not really comparable. The 2019 will also probably come with AWD as an option and have a higher starting price. The 2018 ES should be very negotiable.

2018 Camry is not smaller, 2017 Camry is. Point is, TGNA is going to implement on future Toyotas and Lexuses, it's going to 2019 Avalon next year and that will translate to 2019 ES, so you're looking at an aging chassis now.

AWD could be an option, but FWD will be base model as you have now, so what to lose?

I purchased my 2018 es350 in November at about 16% off msrp.

2019 es350 seems like it will be an exciting redesign. Though in the end, it's just a car and I needed a vehicle. Plus reliability is at its peak with this year while reliability always takes a hit with a redesign.
