NX200t loaner
Got a loaner from the dealer while our '13 ES350 is in getting it's sunroof replaced and we hates it.
It's dark, noisy, and difficult to see out of. Compared to the 3.5 V6 in the ES the 2.0 turbo-4 has to work very hard to move the car and is noisy doing so. Being an SUV, with the rear window so far back, it seems like you're staring out of a cave when looking out the rear window. The car is White/Black and with the tinted windows behind the B pillar it really does seem like a dark cave back there. Outward visibility is generally poor and you don't seem to get any real advantage of sitting higher than in the ES.
Guess we're just not SUV types of people. Waiting to get the ES back.
Oh, the entire sunroof unit is being replaced under warranty because of thumping sounds when driving over abrupt bumps. The dealer identified sounds coming from the sunroof and performing the job.

Strongly agree on NX power inefficiencies, noise levels and uncomfortable/hard ride.
This is a highly competitive space and competitors far outdistance the NX. The RX is a comfortable, lexus-like ride, offers so many amenities and caters to its customer base.. The NX is a hard ride and delivers a cramped list of amenities. Sit in one and you will see. Attribute the hard ride and noise levels to the Dunlop tires that is geared to more aggressive driving, probably not the case of its customer profile.
As sales have shown, Lexus may need to rethink it's strategy and design in this space. We own an RX350 and ES350. Our friends test drove the NX and went with Lincoln MKC. Sorry to pass negative feedback as we all loyal Lexus customers.

Lexus Champion
I suppose the NX is not for everyone but I had one for a week as a loaner and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd even consider buying one. The engine felt strong and playful, ride was nice, space was good. I had a lot of fun with it.

I have an ES 300h, and usually end up with an RX as a loaner when it is in for maintenance. I even feel the RX to have a much firmer ride, and the engine to be noisier than the ES. The NX and RX are much heavier vehicles with heavier tires, I guess, so they cannot be expected to be as plush and quiet as the ES. They are just different vehicles serving different market segments I guess.

I had an NX F type as a loaner while my ES was getting the TSB on the battery drain fixed. I didn't like it either. Couldn't get the seats to be comfortable and found the ride to be less comfortable.
