Default 6th Gen 18" Wheels anyone pic/comments about 225-50-18 Tires?

Wondering if you Guys could help me? Looking at buying a 2014 ES 350 that has the Factory 18" wheels. Heard lots of comments about the harsh ride and bump feel with the wrong tires and the 18" wheels in 225-45-18.

I'm nothing but a Michelin Tire Only Fan. I'm sure the 225-45-18 Michelins are going to run the best. But....... I'm wondering if I should just go 225-50-18 Michelins? So a few questions?

1. Anybody can give me feedback about their experience with the 18" ride and handling?

2. Anybody ran a like for like, same brand type 225-45-18 vs 225-50-18 Tires and have any comments/feedback?

3. Is the Handling Performance way worst with the 225-50-18 vs the 225-45-18?

4. Any pics of the car with the 225-50-18 on it. Does it look big and tall?

Thanks!

I can't really address your questions concerning 225-50-18 tires.. but I can tell you the last two cars I've purchased, a toyota avalon and a lexus es 350 both came with 18" rims and with bridgestone Turanza' tires... and yes, you will lose a little ride comfort with the 18" rim vs. the 17" rim. but to me, the biggest problem with the ride were those nasty turanza tires... Hated them and got rid of them as soon as I could justify it was time to put new tires on. On the Avalon I put a set of Michelen's on and on the ES I put a set of Perelli's on... both made a WORLD of difference in the ride.. I personally like the stance of the ES with 18's... so I am willing to forego a "tiny bit" of ride comfort for the look... but in both cases, now that I put new tires on, I don't even think about the ride... it's a very nice smooth ride.

Ditto! I couldn't wait for the factory Bridgestones to wear out, so I didn't, and picked up a set of Perelli P7+ to replace them. Made a night and day difference.
