Default Warranty About To Expire, Anything to Double Check?

So I have a few months left on the factory warranty, and just curious if there's certain problem areas to check for before it lapses.

One strange issue I found is the analog clock in my dash is not keeping time so I'm scheduling a replacement. The car battery is new, so it appears the clock is just defective. The service advisor says he's actually seen a few of those go out. Just really odd as you would think a simply quartz clock like that would never have any issues.

Anything else to be on the lookout for?

I'm leaning against that, my experience has been the maintenance and repairs that happen usually aren't covered (things like brakes, suspension, tires, etc) I also don't put a lot of miles on my cars as I have a short commute.

What are Lexus factory extended warranties going for?

Too much. Your initial thought of not buying it is the correct one in my opinion.

take it into the dealer and have them check everything. they have incentive to find problems because they will get paid via warranty!

You might want to make sure that all 4 doors will unlock the car when you put your hand on the handle. Like you would normally do, but do it on all 4.

One went out on my last ES at around 25K miles and if not under warrenty would have been a tad expensive.
