Default Radio settings

Hi all,
Just got my new 2017 ES 350, after driving a 2007 very happily for the last ten years. Things have become a tad more complex in the meantime!

I've been trying to figure out how to change the treble/bass settings for the radio. I've read the manual, and when I go to the Audio screen there are only 3 choices available to click on: External Video, Cover Art, and USB. There are also iPod and DVD buttons, but they're greyed out. The Radio settings button, which is supposed to be at the top, isn't there at all, and I can't scroll up past the greyed-out iPod button.

I feel that I'm missing something obvious - can anyone tell me how to find the Radio settings button? Thanks.

Virtually every Lexus dealer is supposed to have a "technology specialist" who reviews all such tech controls and settings with you at vehicle delivery...you should have had such a session...if not you need to contact your dealer for an appointment. There's a lot to learn in such a session so plan on being there at least an hour or more.

Thanks. Yes, I got all the basics then. I'm fairly tech-savvy, and understand how most things in the car work, so was just hoping someone here had the answer so I didn't have to bother calling the dealer.

If you go to the source you are playing, there should be a Sound button in the lower right corner. From there you can adjust the DSP as well as the Bass, Mid and Treble.
If you can't get to the source, then you need to see the audio tech at the dealer.

Go to page 289 of the 2017 ES350 Owners Manual. The page (Optimal Use of the Audio System) will explain how to adjust the treble, mid, and bass. You can also adjust the front/rear audio balance and the left/right audio balance. I have a 2016 ES350 and did the adjustment without any problems.

Other niceties to improve your use of the 2017 audio:
Press and hold the left steering wheel spoke "Mode" button to
mute broadcasts and pause playback. Big help because the
radio doesn't mute itself during Navigation voice directions.

Unlabeled "tall triangle" above the "Sound" you just found
will playback up to 15 minutes of AM/FM broadcast that was
muted during your phone call. Erases when you shut off the car.

Bass/treble/surround is source specific, jack the Bass for FM, cut
the treble for Satellite, boost the treble and midrange for AM news.

An iPod or retired iPhone loaded with every CD track you own can
be hooked up with a USB cable and will then respond to vocal
commands, "play artist Eric Clapton"... It takes a couple of minutes
for the index of songs to migrate to the car so just leave it connected.

Avoid charging your Phone from the .5 amp USB jack, it glitches the
segue from phone to Waze to iTunes and doesn't provide enough
power anyway. Use the 12vdc plug with an adapter.

Thank you. We have just bought a USED Lexus, our first. Love it, but , oh my gosh!! So frustrating , the radio system. Glad for your help.
