Default Service Needed warning

So a Service Needed warning has started popping up when I start the car and I'm wondering how to cancel it? I have my own schedule for routine service that does not correspond to Lexus' idea of when I should have things done. Fortunately, unlike other cars I've owned, this warning does go away very quickly after starting the engine, but just the same I'd like to reset it.

Without wading through the 600 pages of the manual, does anyone have a quick explanation of how to do the reset?

Oh, the car currently has ~23K miles and is about 5K miles through it's Mobil 1 oil life-time

Thanks

It is on page 658 of the 2013 ES manual.

(My guess is that it took me less time to open the pdf version of the manual on my computer, do a quick search, and find the correct page than it took to make this post.)

But where's the fun in doing that? For the price of my question I got a snide remark out of it

lesz pointed you to where the answer is - I understand where he is coming from - this question has been asked on this forum countless times.

And his answer was most appreciated. I will use it and I thank him for it.

The additional commentary, perhaps not as much.

Don't get pissed because of your laziness. There are electronic versions on Lexus site that take seconds to search.

Thanks, but I wasn't getting pissed because of laziness, I was simply replying to an unnecessary ad hominem response.

Cleared the warning after following the reference and looking it up. It's kind of fiddly but it worked ok. You have to touch particular buttons while the power is on but the engine is not running then start the engine and touch some again. Could have been simpler but it worked. Unfortunately, I'll probably have to look it up next year when it has to be done again.

On the newer models, the reset is accomplished via the settings menu - a bit more straight forward than through the odometer. Glad you were able to get it done.
