Smile Dash board top question

Can anybody verify that the top of my 2015 ES350 is made of leather or some other material. Mine is black and gets dusty easily and I want to be sure I use the correct method of cleaning it. Thanks.

It is not leather. I use Aerospace 303 for interior cleaning on my cars and I highly recommend it.

I find that if you put silicone or other "protectorants" i.e Armorall, Aerospace 303, on the top of your dash you must continue to use them all the time. Since I got my car I've used only water to clean the dust off, I find Aerospace 303 to be too shiny and slick for the dash. Tried it once and removed it.

I just use the slightly damp cloth method too. Every now and then if I think of it I'll use Meguiar's Quick Detailer which is safe for both leather and vinyl

I agree 100%. Further, there are those who believe that the use of products containing silicone can cause permanent damage to dashboards and other trim. For routine cleaning, I find that a slightly dampened microfiber cloth does the job quite well.

I will also add that I recall, when the 2013 ES was first announced that Lexus issued a press release touting the fact that the dash and other interior surfaces on the ES were made, not of plastic, but, instead, of recycled plant material.

Just to be clear, Aerospace 303 does not contain silicone.

Yeah, that's probably what's best for the dash.

I just use a microfiber cloth, and occasionally Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer Cleaner. I keep the bottle in my trunk.

I use a 303 wipe and follow up with a microfiber towel to buff of any excess. That eliminates a real glossy shine. SPF sun factor of 40.
